I'm 23 years old, and until late june of this year, I never had any major health problems. Just 2 months before the first "event" I was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps.
Ive had headaches for about 2 years after a car accident, but military docs just gave me otc headache pills and told me to be on my way. Sometimes headaches last up to 48 hours with nausia and dizziness. I know that cant be normal.
The first time, I was participating in a river float down with friend's, and after being in the Arizona summer sun for 4 hours, I was a bit dehydrated when finished. When it happened, my friends and I figured it was a one time thing and to stay better hydrated. But a week later, another seizure/event happened.
They occur every 3 weeks or so, and unfortunately due to health insurance, I won't be able to get any testing or medication for this until Jan 2015. I'm in college, and a mild one happened in the middle of class (leaving me pretty embarassed). Now its escalating to where I also have these "zone-out" kind of episodes, from what my classmates tell me...they have said Ill zone out for up to 20 minutes, unresponsive to sounds or touch.
I've never felt so helpless and not in control over my own brain. I have random bruises on my arms and legs, always feel exhausted from my muscles being so flexed during the events, and last night woke up with a swollen/busted lip.
I just want it to stop, or at the very least know what's going on.
