Hi there my 12 year old daughter started having seizures in July this year. So far to date she has had 6, and they are all grand-mal. She has always been a happy and healthy kid with no previous medical history except for she has Aspergers Syndrome. We are finally getting in with a neurologist November 5th to go through the results of EEG and MRI scan results.
I have heard a lot about Gaba which is normally in our brain. I believe my daughter has to little Gaba, is there any way to test this? I am also worried about medications that may be subscribed to her as I read some horrible side effects such as kidney problems etc. Is there any natural way except for the ketogenic diet to treat her condition as I rather don't want to put her on these meds if possible?
GABA powder can be purchased in health stores, and heard it can help patients with epilepsy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
