Hello everyone,
Have you ever heard the saying two's a party and three's a crowd? I'm having one of those problems! My doctor and I communicate fine, but her nurse! I don't know what to do! I've yet to figure out if she does'nt understand me, does'nt listen, or just does'nt care! Whatever it is it's causing a big problem. The nurse answers all the phone calls and see's to all the my chart and relays everything in her own words to the doctor. I'm begining to think things arn't reaching my doctor like I need them to though. I'll ask her to simply confirm a medication change and three replies later there's still no confirmation or word on the medication change. Instead I'm headed to the monitering unit in the hospital! The first big mess was with my medication and the second was with the pharmacies! Can someone pleases tell what to do? It's starting to be a real problem! I want to keep my doctor but dealing with her nurse is nightmare. Any and all advice on the topic is welcome and would be greatly apriciated! To end things on a better note how about a joke and a quote.

Hi Goldengirl43, I've only had this type of situation happen many, many years ago with a specialist that I was seeing. I got along with my dr great, however, his nurse & I did not. I had an appt with him & I brought it to his attention. I told him, you know I rarely call your office with questions & the few times I have there are issues between her & I. I said it could be a personality conflict between us for all I know. I said this without sounding like I was bad mouthing her or accusing her of anything. From that time on, he dealt with me directly.

Does your dr have a patient portal where you can email him directly? If you are not sure call the office & ask the receptionist. If he has this, the receptionist can tell you how to set up your account. The patient portals are a great way to communicate with a dr.

It's always a help to have you pass by. I almost brought it up at the last appointment and now that I didn't I really wish I had. I always hoped it would never come to a portal but at the moment it might not hurt. It may be the only thing left to do. thanks again for writing and to top it off let's end it with you guessed it A joke and a quote.

Goldengirl, any updates on experiences with nurse ratchet? This is the name I use when nurse's are on their high horse with patients.

Hello straydog,
I do ! I found out that the doctor has been on vacation ! I figured I'd give it to the next appointment to see if it changes before I say anything. I'm hoping it'll work itself out with a little more time.Thanks for wondering by again it's always good to see your in the neighbor hood.
P.S. My mother gave me a very good memory foam matress topper to try and I figure it's definatly worth the try. Wish me luck ! Thanks again. Time for the joke and Quote.
