Do you have trouble remembering stuff you've read?

I don't read nearly as much (in books, not on-screen) as I did when I was a kid, simply because I know that if I don't write something down, I probably won't be able to remember it. I'm kind of sad about that.

Has anyone figured out a way to remember the things that they read without writing them down?

I'm the same way to and have to reread pages of books. I was like that since I was in school. I had to study twice as much as other did in my class. And sometimes i didn't get it, but I made it thu school. I also have problems remmebering names, but I will be ok and so will you. So don't feel bad, your not alone. We are here for you.

Apparently this is a common problem. What I hate is when I come on here, and I can't remember which topics I've put a post on, so I don't remember to check back. I had a horrible time in school with names and dates, but did pretty well on plot lines, as long as I said something out loud to myself about it. I'm sure I'd look crazy if you were around me, but if I read out loud or repeat back main points, then I can keep track of things a lot better. Even writing on here, I'll type, and then read it back to myself to see if it makes sense. Some bad days, I'll even go back and read what everyone else wrote, so I can make sure I'm actually writing back about the same topic. For school, being in study groups helped a lot, b/c if I had the opportunity to speak about it, I would remember the conversation, even if I didn't remember what I read. Kind of weird, but I managed to get my AA degree with honors, so I guess it works.
