djdaz_1985 Update

Hi guys,

Just thoiught id write to give you an update on my condition. After about 5 months being seizure free, I think I had a seizure last night / this morning. There was coffee all over the floor, (I am the only one in our house that drinks coffee), I feel like ive gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson and there is a burn on my stomach (probably from the coffee as I drink it black... it matches the one on my right foot now!)   

Nobody else is awake in our house yet, so I am yet to have this confirmed but I felt like posting an update and I really wanted to talk to someone and my mum is still in bed! This means that I am gonna have to wait another year before regaining my UK D/L.

I know these things happen every now and again, but its a real disappointment when Im working on regaining my driving licence, Ive made it to 5 months and then I have to start all over again.

Maybe I need my medication reviewing??? I take 600mg Carbamazipine Retard twice daily and it is usually enough to control the seizures, although I do get the odd one break through. Should I see a doctor? Should I just accept it as one of those things that happens every now and again?

I havnt seen a neuro for quite a while as I seemed to be stable, but I am considering having a neuro review (if I can get one... Neuro's are hard to get hold of in Wales!) I am feeling better tonight, although I never feel completely OK until about 24 hours after the seizure... My taste buds go very funny and I have got absolutely no co-ordination at all (getting off the sofa without falling over can be a struggle sometimes)

Darren Have you been able to see a neuro yet? If you can't get to see a neuro very soon I would recommend you go to the ER and see them. Some treatment is better than none. I hope you are doing better. I have also had experience with seizure and coffee. So, now I only drink coffee from a spill proof travel mug.
