I am 2 3 and I have hda sezures my whole life. people picking on me. but you know I got use to it. know one should have to. but what are you going to do.some times it got to much whaen they stoped picking on me and they started to try and put me in to sezures becuse they thought it was funny. Well you know what they say what goes around comes around.I know that there are alot of people like me and they have been through alot to.I wounder alot why cant people just get along.

I am sorry you have had to be subjected to this. I am assuming most of this was when you were a kid. I know that had to be humiliating. I am 56 and was just diagnosed last summer. I did have a few seizures between the ages of 12 - 13, but only a few and I always had them at night when I was at home. If nothing else, I bet it has made you a stronger person.

We are glad to have you with us. You know, parents should teach their children to respect others. I have noticed that my two older grandchildren who are 6 and 4 will ask their Mommy (my daughter) what is wrong with someone and they are kind enough to do it quietly and my daughter will try to explain to them what sort of special situation the child or adult has. I wish more children and parents did this.

HI there and Welcome to HealingWell!

I think its terrible that people are bullied because of their epilepsy. I was bullied at school because of it and I think it is because of a lack of awareness. I am so sorry that you and your family have had to go through this, but like you say, what goes around comes around and they will certainly get thiers!

As for the whole tongue swallowin debate... Its a no. Its a physical impossibility. The end of the tongue can flop back on itself, partially blocking the airway but its unlikely to stay there.
