Hi everyone! I am a newbie, although not new to fibro...diagnosed 20 years ago and have been struggling with it ever since, but I am too darn stubborn to allow it to get the best of me, well, there are those days that I have to give in to it.
I too take Malic/Magnesium and it has helped, especially the muscle cramps in my legs. It really does help restore energy. Also, as others have said, what is key is sleep and at least 8 hours of quality sleep. That is the time that your body is trying to repair your muscles.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention the name of a book or the author's name??? I have been reading this book (I have NO affiliation to author or company) and it gives such good advice on natural approaches to healing along with prescription medications...he lists both, so you have a choice. about a year ago, I went to see an MD that also practices chinese medicine and she told me I need to completely eliminate cane sugar, coffee, decaf coffee and GLUTEN!!! She also gave me a book on living gluten free. As far as I know, I do not have Celiac disease, at least I didn't think so, but since I have been eliminating these foods, my quality of life is so much better!! No, I am not cured, but I am not as tired during the day and the fibro fog has definitely gotten better. Since then, I have been reading up on yeast problems in women (candida) and how they may correlate with Fibromyalgia. Also hypothyroidism, which I have and is finally normalized.
There is a product that was recommended in the book I am referring to, D-Ribose, that you might want to do some research on. It does wonders for your energy.
I am able to take a walk on most days...yes, I still have bad days, but not as many and I am able to work. I do medical transcription from home, which is difficult, because of all the sitting I do, but I now make time for stretching and take frequent breaks.
Anyway, hopefully, some of this will help someone.
take care,
