I sprained my ankel and it hurts really bad.  It is swollen and black and blue.  Also the stupid fibro pain in my arms is back probably because I can't go to Curves and exercise because of my ankle.  Went back on lyrica which makes me so high, the pain doesn't go away but the pills make me feel so funny that i don't care. 

Really sorry people I am ranting.

Hey Starbrite, I am sorry that you are hurting like this. Being clumsy, I have sprained ankles many times and they have their own special brand of pain. You need to put up your foot and ICE it for a long time. I use frozen peas and corn LOL I don't know if you can take tylenol or motrin with the Lyrica, but hopefully you can take something that will help and keep the foot up and alternate cold/heat. Call the doc for an emergency RX if you need to. In my experience, a bad ankle will lead to other muscle/skeletal pains while you over compensate for the ankle by working other limbs harder. I would like to suggest pool exercises. the risk of getting hurt in water is very low. Nothing like curves. In addition, you can still exercise in water with a sprained ankle.

Sorry ya hurt your ankle starbright. Don't forget when your icing to only go 20 minutes at a time but the frozen veges work great =)   I sprained my ankle really badly one time falling out of a camp trailer door!  Just stepped on out without the steps being there lol.  It didnt seem funny at the time though but I must have looked silly when I did it.  My family says I am an accident waiting to happen.  Three days ago I was out shopping with my daughter and was holding up a pair of jeans on a hanger.  Well, the jeans popped off the  lil clip holding the pants and the hanger flipped up and hit me right in the eye!!  Yep sporting a shiner here lol  So you see even when your trying to be careful the weirdest things can happen.  Get better soon.

I can relate to you- I had sprained my left ankle severely some years back and it was awful - and that was before having fibro. Yes, and my ankle and foot had the prettiest colors going on for awhile too. Try and get as comfortable as you can and take it easy this weekend. Resting and icing it is about the only thing you can do. GamJill

My ankle is still swollen up and very sore.  I want to go out do something it's terrible just sitting on a chair with your food up.  It is so boring I guess I should be grateful that it's not broken. rolleyes
