I'm so glad to hear that Michael is out of the coma.  I know it's going to take time for the healing.  My son was hit head on by a drunk driver in 2003.  It killed the one that hit him and Jason was flown to U of L where he underwent 6 surgeries that night.  It was months before he recovered enough to even walk.  He still has some problems but he is alive and well. 

 

I know from experience what Diane is going through and my heart goes out to her and Michael. 

 

Let's keep on praying, because they both need strength to see them through this troubled time.

Marlee, your post this morning is good news, things are turning around for the better. They do have a long road ahead of them, but w/ their strong family love and support and this part of her 'family' keeps praying, I am very hopeful. I thought about Diane and Michael before I closed my eyes last night, praying that they would get a positive sign to hold on to, I think they got it. Thank God!!!

Shannon, that must have been so frightening for you. I'm so glad your son is doing so well.

We never know what tomorrow will bring, we need to savor the love each day and be so grateful for our blessings.

The prayers will continue for Diane and Michael and their family.

That is wonderful news!! I'm sure Michael has a long recovery ahead of him, but the worst seems to be over. I'm keepign him and Diane in my prayers.

I'm so happy to see this improvement.  Young people can surprise you with how quickly they can recover.  Prayers are still continuing for Diane, Michael, and the family.

I just wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your love and support at this time.  It is just after 8pm saturday..I just got home (to my own home) a little while ago.  Michael is in a lot of pain from his surgery, but making a little more sense today.  He still doesnt know what happened to him yet, he doesnt even remember yesterday, but he is out of critical care and in ICU now..which is good good news.

His brain is still swollen, but they are telling us that a crash like this would tear brain tissue, just as what would occur when an infant is shaken.  His prognosis is good so far...thanks to the power of prayer from all of my finger family..and his many friends and family.  We are just taking it one day at a time, but we have been very lucky so far.  And he didnt die.

Diane, that such good news.  I'm so glad he is getting better.  I do believe that prayer helps everything and there is plenty of prayers going out for you and Michael.

 

Stay strong and know that you still have so many of your Fibro family praying.  You and Michael are in our hearts.

 

Please keep in touch so we will know how he is doing.

Diane, I am so happy to hear of the blessings of Michael's continuing to heal. God is with you all right now, and through Him you will find the strength to deal with each hour as it comes, each day as it passes. We are all praying for you and Michael and your family. Please take care of you, as best as you can, remember to stay hydrated and eat moderately as you can. I hope you will rest as you are able. We are all here for you.

Diane, it's so good to hear from you and w/ good news, too. You and Michael have been in our prayers and YOU both will remain in our prayers. Pls try to take care of yourself right now, so you will be able to take care of Michael when he comes home. He must be a strong young man, he certainly comes from strong stock. He is here and he will be healed. God is answering your prayers... and ours. My thoughts and prayers are w/ you, Michael and your family.

I am so happy to hear about your son's continued improvement.  I can't imagine what you are going through (and have gone through).  You are one of the strongest people I "know."  Be sure to take care of yourself, too, OK?  We are all here for you if you need us. :-)

Marlee, have you heard anything from Diane? She and Michael have been in my thoughts all morning and I was hoping that there was some good news from them. My prayers are still w/ you and Michael, Diane. May God give you all the strength to handle this crisis.

No I haven't Alice and I've been quite concerned. sad I e-mailed her this morning to let her know I think about her all day long. Let's pray no news is good news and she is busy sitting on him to keep him from over doing it. I worry about what all this is doing to her also since she has so many health issues. We will continue to pray and hope she checks in soon.

Michael was released from hospital today.  He is doing very well, and they felt he would be better at home now that the worst is over.  I am absolutely done in, but Sherrine was so right in saying God is so good.  I'm forever greatful that he survived, and that no other cars were involved at all.  In time we hope he will remember that night, and why he left the highway...no one knows anything yet, so no charges have been laid. We suspect a bear or moose...but that is only speculation. 

He was sent home with morphine for pain, and anti-seizure meds, and cant be left alone.  Next week we go back for another cat scan on his skull but at the moment all seems to be healing.  Next week as well for the orthopoedic (sp) surgeon to see how his leg is mending.

I cant thank you enough for all your love and support, and I'm sorry it was a few days before I got back to you, but I stayed in Toronto after a night home to be close to the hospital.  I am doing ok...I'm in alot of pain..but I expected that anyway, and I think....I still have what was left of my sanity to begin with tongue

Diane, it's so good to hear from you and know that all is well, for what you've been through.  We've all been praying for you and Michael.  Prayer is the keys to the kingdom and I know he heard our prayers. 

 

I know you've probably not had the chance to read all the post about you and Michael, but somewhere out there I said I knew what you were going through, because my son was hit by a drunk driver head on and had to be flown to U of L where he underwent 6 surgeries the first night and many there after.  The other driver was killed instantly and I felt so sorry for his mother that night.  She told me her son was gone, but she was still praying for my son.  I'll never forget that night and the poor mother that lost her son. 

 

Prayer was what brought my son through it all, because I begged people to pray, every time I talked to anyone. 

 

I'm sure Michael has a lot of healing ahead of him, but God will give you strength to make it through each day.

 

My son still has a lot of issues, but most of all he's alive!

I'm sorry you had to go through something like this too. How long has it been since your son's accident?  And I wonder are his issues phyisical or emotional or both?  How traumatic these can be.  I will pray for your son with his bad memories of what happened.  I'm glad he has a loving family to help him. I am glad for both of our sons, but I am so sorry for the young man who was driving and killed...his poor family cry    I am like you in my belief of prayer, I know that nothing would ever have saved Eric because his death was instant.  I pray your son will be ok eventually, and I pray that Michael will make a full recovery as well

Jason still has imobility in his left arm.  Actually in turning his wrist.  They wanted to do more surgery on him but he said he had been through so much surgery that he could live with it.  His accident was in 2003 and it took about 3 years before he could walk without limping.  He has arthritis really bad because he had so many broken bones and for a long time he couldn't stand to drive again because he said he felt like every oncoming car was going to hit him.  He is back to work now and doing well.  God watched over him and he is so blessed to be alive. 

 

I'm sure Michael still has a lot of healing facing him, but God will see him through too. 

 

We have so much to be thankful for and I feel that it made my faith stronger, because I saw a miracle happen before my very eyes when he healed Jason.  God is good!

Yes..I did see the year earlier in the post. I can understand why he doesnt want more surgery. I'm glad he is able to live his life with quality. I think it's their anger that is tough for us to deal with, I hope this phase passes quick, I feel so drained at the moment.

Make sure you rest too, your body needs a rest too
