Started Malic acid & magnisim today

 Started Malic acid & magnisium Today. Feeling great on one ....no side effects!! I just had to share how great I feel ! I'm out of bed homeschooled from the classroom not the bed!!! Is this just a good day or the malic acid working? I really hope it's the suppliments,I guess time will tell. I think in 2 days if I have no symptoms I'll go up to 2. Any suggustions?

That's great.  I hope the Malic Acid is working for you.  I just started taking it myself, I'm up to 3 tablets a day with no side effects.  I haven't noticed anything different yet but I still have hope.  I am having problems with my left shoulder right now, tendinopathy, I think that might be bringing me down a little.  I have been very tired all day and not able to use my right arm without a lot of pain.  Maybe I should up the dose to 4 tomorrow  .  Early to bed tonight and hopefully a better day tomorrow.  I hope you continue to have good results.

I too love hearing all of this good news.  I picked blackberries again today and walked my dogs.  It is starting to feel like autumn, but that is okay, it is my favorite season.

THANKS ALL-for responding. I feel great and energized today again! I over did it making dinner last night but dh came to the rescue and finished the gravy while I re-couped. After 20- minutes felt great again. My loving son in-law cleaned up the kitchen last night for me . I started to scare everyone feeling so good they were all afraid I'd go down today. I'm not down! I'm praying for this to last ,but if not it was a gift,and I'm greatful. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

 

CHUZZLE-how wonderful to be energized enough to mow the lawn I have one that needs mowing. I'm cheering for ya!

 

MEGGIE-I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder I hope it feels better today don't give up yet  Sherrine says  sometimes it takes longer to kick in. I'm praying for you.

Thanks Gennie, it is so wonderful that you are feeling great.  I will pray for that to keep up.  I increased my dose to 4 today, I do feel better than yesterday. My shoulder needed the day of rest.  I'm not giving up on the Malic Acid.  I really think that the stress of going to the ortho doctor is making me hurt more than usual.  I know that it is really going to hurt so I would like to just have this done and over with.  Oops, got off subject.

Pam, actually you should start with one a day, work up to two, then three.  I am taking four a day.  That's as much as I will take.  The reason for starting slowly is that it can cause diarrhea in some people.  If you go slowly, it gives your body a chance to become accustomed to it.  I hope this works for you!

Pam, if you have IBS, take one a day for two to three days.  Then if you have no problem up it to two a day for a couple of days...etc.  You don't want to start too fast and possibly cause a setback.  We did have someone take four the first day and they did get diarrhea! 

 

You should take calcium too.  They balance one another. 

 

I really hope this works for you.  It has made a difference for me and for other members on this forum.

Hi all! Started my double dosage yesterday Feeling great and energized. I should add I'm taking this with my nerotin, still no need for narcotics!! I'll keep posting.

I did notice that this morning I did not have as much of the RLS feeling in my legs (I'm thinking that it may not be RLS), but still was tired yesterday afternoon - it's only been one day and i'm taking only one today at lunch time. I did have some loose stools last night, but then I'm totally used to that, unfortunately!  If that is the worse it gets, then I can handle if this makes me feel better.  I'll give a few more days before I post about it again. I'm going to the shore this weekend and normally hate to go without any pain meds, hopefully will feel better by then.  Does anyone take the malic acid with pain meds?  I really don't like mixing a lot of things, but sometimes you can't help it.

I am due for blood work - actually overdue. I have started taking a very comprehensive supplement that includes calcium/D, antioxidents among other things - but will mention to dr.  I know that last time my iron was fine, folic levels were very high but b12 was low. Although, he never did anything about it and I forgot and then tend to self-diagnose.  Thanks for all the info! It's comforting to come to a place where everyone can understand what you're going through.

Lauren, I get mine at puritan.com.  Please read the thread about it first and ask your doctor and pharmacist, too.  It shouldn't interact with your medications, but you should find out for sure.  I just bumped up the thread all about it and how to take it, since it can cause diarrhea.

Don't "not ask for" your narcotic refill. If you run out you would be in a world of pain if you have a flare. Pain pills can sit in the cabinet and be your salvation if you need them and the malic acid doesn't always cover all the problems we have. I've been on Malic Acid and extra magnesium and calcium for over four years now and am up to 3200mg a day. Definitely do better with it than without it. I do have occasional bouts of diarrhea but I also am on metformin which causes that side effect so I just live with it. Even so, I still need an occasional darvocet on a busy cake Saturday. Those darned 16 inch tortes get HEAVY!!!

I'm so happy to see so many having good results with the malic acid! For a long time here I was just whistling in the wind until Sherrine started it. She is the queen of malic acid dosage, side effects and information so read and re-read that post about it.

you know, the vicodin helps with the back/neck/rib pain but does nothing for the legs. I don't even think my dr remembers why he first prescribed it for me. I feel "energized" from it. I'm waiting for my dr to tell me he will not refill anymore - at that point, I'll see if I can try Tramadol/Ultram - but I think I tried it once and it gave me a headache.

I'm hoping that I get some relief from the malic acid.

I don't think i ever mentioned that I had seen a neuro for 3 years - lesions on brain but never dx'd with MS. I know there is something wrong and I totally relate to all the fibro symptoms.
