Oh my gawd I can't make it stop!!  shocked I literally have to put my finger on it and even then I can STILL feel it.  It's been 4 days since it started and it's visible LOL I think that's what's bugging me the most...PEOPLE SEE IT!!  Ok so I'm laughing to myself right now because it IS sort of funny but really is this ever going to go AWAY??!!  I've had twitches before but never this bad or this obvious..I figure it's because the last few nights have just about been devoid of sleep.  Any of you guys experience this??  confused   I'd really LOVE it if someone could offer a trick to calm it a little..it's proving to be somewhat embarrassing since I'm at work hahahaha...oh man rolleyes

My husband gets this frequently (he doesn't have fibro).  It seems to come on when he is stressed, and it happens off and on for several days or even weeks.  Then it will calm down, and he won't have any twitching for months until it pops back up again.

 

Like you, about the only way he can stop it is to put his finger on his eyelid.  He gets really frustrated too, but eventually, it always does stop.

 

Sorry I don't have any "tricks" to make it go away, but I did want to let you know that you aren't the only person who experiences this.  :-)

thanks Austen! smilewinkgrin I've had em before too just never so bad and usually on my eye lid at the outer corner not the bottom right in the middle...ah well I'm gonna have to just wait it out or try and get a nap in hehehhee

hey allie,

i too have those never ending eye twitches....try getting some dried apricots...they are the fruit highest in pottasium....taking a calcium/magnesium supplement may help too....

This is so bizarre that you brought this up. shocked   For the past 2 weeks, my eyes have been twitching.  First it was my right eye, but now it's usually my left.  Of course I had to look online to find the cause of this.  I just have the bad habit of having to know WHY things are happening. confused  

 

Anyway, I haven't found anything that makes this go away, but my eye twitching comes and goes.  I already have an appointment with my new GP on the 22nd, so I will make sure to ask him what is going on.  I just hope that a neurologist isn't in my future. shakehead

Take B12 sublingual tabs and it will go away. Calcium and magnesium might help too, but the B12 is the best.

I'd been having eye twitches for weeks and they seemed to be getting worse. Suddenly they slowed down and stopped. As it turns out, I had just started sublingual B12. I'm glad you mentioned it because I'd bet that's what help me.

These twitches are muscle fasciculations that affect everyone at some point, usually triggered by stress, can last several days to a couple weeks. Cold and warm compresses can help immeasurably!

Thanks!  I'm still waiting for all my test results to come back so I don't want to start any supplements or anything without talking to my Doc and I will most certainly mention it to him...BUT I am glad I'm not the only one walking around with a weird twitchy eye!! smilewinkgrin

I get it from time to time but not lasting that long. I hate that its visble too,because others can see it and its embarrassing and there is nothing to do to stop it at least while its happening.  I aslo get twitchy hands legs etc.

Hi Allie,
I tried to repy to your post 2 times before (had a long note each time) and my PC lost them...Anyway, look up "hemifacial spasm" on the web. I've had this many times to the point where my eyelid, left face and mouth drooped. It was NOT Bells Palsy as I'd feared. It was "7th cranial nerve damage" which is usually damaged in the womb/birth canal. You can find that info on the web too. IT Will Stop! It's fairly common in those of us w/ Fibro...for some reason. Try not to panic! It really will go away. It is worse w/ stress and exhaustion. Try to relax & keep posting. I know it's scary.

My eye twitching was caused by an anti-convulsant that I had been prescribed for pain.  Medicine gone, eye twich gone, pain back.

Oh yes, the eyes twitching!!! And around the mouth, face, arms, everywhere on my body!!

When I first got fibro, late winter of last year, I started by having my first migraine, and twitching around both eyes. Then it went around my mouth and face, and spread from there. It was ANNOYING to say the least. My eye twitches were visible too while at work. mad It took mine a couple months to go away and now I only get an occassional twitch here or there.

You don't know how it made me feel to read your post about the same symptoms I got with the face drooping on one side. I think I have read about only one other person that had these symptoms. Mine did that also when this first hit - Dr's were not sure if I had a stroke or that it could have been Bells Palsey. The MRI came back normal. But it was so scary! I will look that info up on the web~ Thanks!! GamJill

How much Sublingual b 12 and how long until it works?
