Goodmorning all...

I had to take my hubby to the ER last night.  He had started having severe stomach pains and vomiting.  After ruling out appendicitis, they have a tentative diagnosis of a bowel obstruction.  They saw this with a stomach x-ray.  They also did an ultrasound and found gallstones, but said that is not what is causing his problems.  They are doing a CT scan this morning.  I will keep you all posted.

I'll be keeping you both in my prayers. I'm glad you had the good sense to take him to hospital!!  I went through something very similar, however....I thought I had a nasty case of the flu for the first day...by the second day, my kids got a neighbour to take me to the ER, and my bowel obstruction..had turned into peritonitis!!  So...you were wise to take him...and now he is getting looked after so that what happened to me, wont happen to him.  I am so sorry you both are going through this, I will pray for a speedy recovery for him.

I hope your dh is doing better. At least he had the good sense to go to the ER, now he'll get proper care.

Missy you and  your husband are in my prayers.  I've had partial bowel obstructions before and they are not fun.  Let us know how he, and you, are doing.

Hi all and thanks for the warm wishes.  We are back home now...the doc wanted to keep him til morning but he was not hurting anymore and was not vomiting so I talked him into letting him go home this evening. I figured he would be a lot more comfortable at home and plus it's as heck of alot cheaper to sleep at home than there LOL This is/was a partial obstruction...but it's resolving itself.  He also has gallstones which will need to be taken care of.  I am going to make an appointment with the surgeon we saw last year (when all this happened before) becaus ei really didn't like the one that was on call this time.

So anyway we are home...he's eating chicken noodle soup...and all is well for the time being.

I am glad you are both home,, your right he would probably feel much beter at home, i am glad the bowel is reolving itslef, i hope for good, so he doesnt have to experience this again,and so you dont either, I know how hard this must be on you too. I hope you reach his other surgeon,and that the gallstones get taken care of, you both are still in my prayers.....

I missed this yesterday Missy. I'm so glad it resolved itself. Hopefully they can remove the gallbladder microscopically and he won't be down long.

 

If your like me your DH is your rock.
