I have mentioned it before, but i have totally done my back in, my right shoulder and upper arm with pain shooting down my spine and burning up my neck. its happened in the last week.

i am in such extreme pain. i have a high tolerance for pain, but this is really bad and it is affecting my ability as a teacher, to be as hands on, as it is a physically demanding job.

i only have panadeine forte and digesic to deal with the pain, its the strongest my doctor will prescribe. i may as well drink lolly water because i get no relief.

im sorry, im a mess. the pain is agitating me and i hate that this illness affects my ability to do my job to the best level.

cant get comfy in bed, every time i move, the pain spasms through my body like my muscles are stretched and on fire.

has anyone else experienced this? at the moment it is confined to my right side. im also having chest pain on the right hand side when i inhale deeply or cough hard.

sorry to hear you are feeling so bad! I've had that sensation (muscles on fire) and had to get out of bed. But being SO tired, I climb back in and the cycle repeats. Sometimes sitting in an easy chair (recliner) helps, or maybe a hot shower.

I'd try to find a pain management doctor. Fentanyl is the only thing that REALLY helps me be almost pain free. The problem is I metabolize it too quickly and by the end of 24-30 hours, my 72 hour patch isn't working. At least my doc prescribed it to be changed every 48 instead of 72 hours.

I hope you feel better soon. Have you tried any topical ointments for your shoulder/back? Biofreeze seems to work well for me. Flexall 454 too.

I don't have any advice, but I wanted to say I'm sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you can find relief soon!

Sorry you are still feeling bad Maz. . . I hope you get to feeling better soon. . . I've been hurting a lot lately too with the weather changing, and I don't know what I would do lately without my family to help support me. I've started writing again, and selling a few things on ebay to help make ends meet. I know how frustrating this is, and it sure does not help with the anxiety at times :)

Your doctor might prescribe lidoderm patches for you. I have a bad shoulder too, but on the left side. I had a surgery done on it when I first got fibro. But lidoderm patches help a lot. Ask your doctor about it. They are non narcotic, so I don't see any reason that he would not prescribe.

Ms. Maz, I am with everyone here hoping that you are doing better. I am so sorry that you are having such intense pain. I am sending all my positive energies so that your doc will help you kick this pain. Can I ask what part of Oz you are in?

Hi Mazfire- I don't think I have welcomed you, so Welcome!

Sorry your having so much pain right now. I read so many that get pain to one side or the other and I have not had that. My pain is usually all over.

I am not working at present and I feel for all of you that are trying to work fulltime jobs and deal with the pain on top of it. My fibro hit so hard 6 months ago I have not been able to work since. It has been quite a life changing event! I am like you and when I do a job I take alot of pride in doing it well.

Do you have help at home? Have you had a busier schedule than normal lately? Hope you can get a little extra rest for your body in and try some of the suggestions the group has had to offer. Just remember, we're here for you.
