Lyme Disease or Fibro?

I was wondering if anyone has heard of the issues/controversy, call it what you will between Lyme Disease and Fibromyalgia.  When I was at my chiropractor she made a good point of how so many of the symptoms are the same for LD, FM, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrom and that research is being done to find out if people have been misdiagnosed with having LD when they really have FM and vice versa.

I read an article and it is pretty interesting.  there are new treatments available for people who have chronic LD and it has been shown to help in FM and CFS patients as well.  Since there is no diagnostic test for FM, CFS, or a good one for LD, it kind of makes sense. 

I was hoping to get some feedback from you all.  Could you send along your thoughts and any possible articles you have found relating to these similarities?

I have in fact already checked out the Fibro 101 page and love it, it is a great help.  I checked out all the sites end to end when I first joined the Fibro forum.  Such a great resource!!!

Let me try to clarify what I meant with my original post.  I wanted to bring to light how there is new research being done on the common underlying symptoms that many diseases and disorders seem to share, especially Lyme Disease, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  Many researchers now believe that Lyme Disease may be the cause of so many disorders including Fibromyalgia, CFS, etc. I also wanted to see if anyone had any more insight to related articles and information on current research results.  I find this as a very interresting and relative topic myself and am sure that most of you do as well.  I would even like to participate in a study to help find answers that so many of us chronic pain sufferers are needing.

Yes!  this is exactly what I have been hearing as well.  I find it very interesting and hope that more research is done to help us all find even better ways to treat ourselves.
