spheno palatine ganglion

hi guys, haven't posted on here for a while.

Any way just wanted to ask if any one knows any thing about spheno palatine ganglion??

Has anyone tried this for their Fibro, and if so, did they have any success with it???

Hi,

I'm visiting from the chronic pain board. I don't have fibro, but I saw this thread & I have had sphenopalantine blocks done, so I thought I'd just let you know my experience. My blocks were done for severe eye pain. Unfortunately they didn't help at all. There are 2 different ways that they can do the block -- they can inject the ganglion (back of your throat), or they can stick lidocaine-soaked q-tips waaaaay down your nose, so that they rest on top of the ganglion. The theory with the q-tips is that the lidocaine diffuses across to the ganglion to block it. I had the later done as my doc doesn't do the spenopalantine injections. I wish he had done the injection though because I feel like that would have a better chance of working. Good luck.
