Hi, Iodine, and welcome! Yes, you definitely are not alone. I know the pain, fatigue, memory problems, and all the other goodies that fibro offers so freely can be a real bummer. But, you can't let it get to you. You can't let it control your life and it sounds like you are doing such a wonderful job with it. Life is not easy with fibromyalgia and it definitely is not for sissies. But, we can keep on keeping on and face each new day with anticipation. That's the best way to handle fibro. Letting the symptoms prey on your mind will cause stress which will cause more pain which will cause more stress......
Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about this illness and also a link about malic acid/magnesium supplements. I started these last year and they helped with pain and fatigue. As Karen said, have your vitamin levels checked. Most of us are low in Vitamin D. I personally have to take 1,800 IU of vitamin D daily. B vitamins can be low too and that all adds to the pain and fatigue. Also have the thyroid checked. Many with fibro have hypothyroidism and that adds to the symptoms.
Yes, I have a dog and two feral cats that we took in. All are spayed or neutered. Also, keep your pets on a leash or in the house! We nearly had to put one of our cats to sleep because neighbors weren't keeping their cats in. Their cat would spray in our yard and my cat, since he can't go in the yard, sprayed in my house...over and over again. We are still working with him but he is responding nicely! I'm soooo happy about that. I just love the little guy!
I'm so glad you found us! Ask questions and we will help you find a way around fibro so you can continue enjoying your life to the fullest. You may not get things done in the time frame you used to, but it still gets done! I hope to hear more from you soon!
