HELLO EVERYONE,

I FOUND OUT I HAD FIBRO LAST YEAR, SO I'M NEW AT ALOT OF DIFFERENT SYMPTOMS. Does anyone get muscle twiching? please let me know if you do and is that part of Fibro? confused   THANK YOU d_lite_full

Hi, and welcome!  Yes, I do get muscle twitching sometimes.  It's not a constant thing for me, though. 

 

Check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibromyalgia.  Knowledge is power and will help you learn how to live with fibro.

 

You have come to a good place.  We have great people here that have good advice to help you live a full and enjoyable live with fibro.  Just ask questions and someone will be on to help you.  I'm so glad you found us and I hope to hear more from you soon.

YES. I GET MUSCLE TWITCHING... all over..face, legs, arms, and buttocks.. it may last for a day or 2 weeks and then disappear for a few months.

I'm told that  I have fibro, but having an EMG done next week.  Hope this helps.

Hi d,

Welcome to the fibromyalgia forum. The muscle twitching, is it like a spasm? If so, you could talk to your doctor about it. They might need to give you a muscle relaxer if it is uncomfortable to you. Though we learn to live with a lot of the symptoms if they don't interrupt our daily living.

Hi,

I am a new member too and yes I get twitching. The correct word for what I have is fasciculations. Now I have been to a leading neurologist (ugh) to determine what these are. The bottom line is YES, fibro can cause them. Understand fibro is in that zone between neurology and rheumatology. In other words it greatly affects muscles and nerves. My fassciculations are only in the calves of my legs. I would be interested to know where yours are....they are greatly affected by stress. At times hardly noticeable and at other times very.

I get twitches all the time, day and night. Sometimes they are minor and last for a few seconds, other times it's so bad I have to stop whatever I'm doing and ride it out. Once in a while, I'll get spasms in one or two of my fingers, and they will curl up towards my palm on their own. If I try to straighten them out, the pain is horrible. The most annyoing ones are the eyelids. Occasionally my left eyelid will go to town like it's signaling a ship in outer space, lol!
I have noticed that often they are much worse or last longer the more tired I am. And if I'm lucky, and it's just a minor twitch, I can put an ice cube on the spot and the twitching stops almost immediately.

Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm so glad that you found us. Hopefully you will get some answers here, learn a few things about fibro, adn make sense of what is happening to you. I know I sure did!

I do get muscle twitches from time to time, eyelids, hands, thighs, biceps. They stay in one spot for awhile, then go somewhere else.

Hi dlitefull and welcome-

My fibro hit late last March and with it came muscle twitches! Everywhere on my body! It lasted 2-3 months. Now I get them occasionally, and it can be anywhere.

i get muscle twitches, too. primarily in my legs, but i also will get them in my eyelids (those really bother me-i feel like i'm blinking like mad, but no one else can see much of anything!)

GOOD DAY TO EVERYONE. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR REPLYING TO MY QUESTIONS about TWITCHING. I'M A NEW MEMBER AND I HAVE SO MANY QUESTION.

I ALSO HAVE THE FOLLOWING, IF ANY ONE CAN SHARE:

1. PAINS IN MY BIG TOE

2. PAINS IN MY HANDS

3. VERY BAD PAIN ON BOTH MY SHINS (TIBIA) THE DOC DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS? (HELP)

I SEE A GENERAL PRAC DOC, I'M THINKING ON GETTING RHEUMATOLOGIST confused

I have muscle twitching in every part of my body 24/7. Never goes away. Also have pins and needles all over. Having a emg and ssep nuero testing done early Jan. Was diagnosed Almost a year ago.

This will be my third one.. had one 8 eight years ago.  It was negative.  Then I have one 3 year later..it said nerve damage or something like that. I can't remember..now re-doing test all over.. just had MRI (4th one,) bone scan (last week), you name it.

I will let you know when I get the results..oh..mine is for all limbs too.  What is an EMG for?

Hi Diana,

I'm new here and recently diagnosed with fibro (and some docs are still questioning and running tests).  I too get muscle twitching, a lot in my hands and face.  I also get cramps in my hands, as well as aches and pains and also in my big toes!  Lat night I had terrible pains in my legs, usually I just have restless legs.  It is amazing the way te symptoms keep changing day by day.  I'm learning to say anything is possible with this diagnosis.

BTW, I am going to see a rheumy on Wednesday, from what I have learned I would rec that you get in to see one.

Hi dlitefull and gracefull and welcome. I get a twitching at the corner of my left eye when I'm nervous but I've had that as long as I can remember. It doesn't happen very often. I haven't had any twitching from fibro that I can remember.

 

This is a great group and you will both love it here.
