New pains

So within the past week and a half I will get random, sharp shooting pains in my abdomen and pelvis. Just this morning it hurt so bad that I had to go sit on the stairs and when I reached out my hand to steady myself on the step before I sat, I got a terrible pain that made me paralized for a minute because it hurt so badly.

Does anyone else get this? I'm convinced that this is not just IBS.

Up until a couple months ago, I had this ongoing pain in the right side mostly, a couple inches below the belly button. I finally figured it out as I was waiting to see my PCP, I had to use their restroom and I saw a bunch of those urine collection bottles. So seizing the opportunitely, I got a sample and he tested it. Major Urinary Tract Infection. I was convinced I had a cyst on my right ovary, but after an ultrasound, it was determined I didn't have a cyst on my right ovary b/c I didn't have a right ovary. How embarassing. I had a hysterectomy in 2000, and was told they'd left an ovary to avoid immediate menopause. Howvever, since the ultrasound, apparently it was not the right side. Anyway. I take a dose of codeine/acetomenophen when needed. This can be very constipating, so I am on the one a day yougrt regularity guarentted or your money back program. It works. No trouble since, as long as I eat that yogurt.

I have had this happen to me before. I dont know what causes it, or even what it is...but it has happened to me. I have had shooting pains in my abdomen. Usually in my left side. I usually dont pay much attention, like, I dont think to much about it being serious. I guess with the whole Fibro thing, I have just gotten used to dismissing things as being Fibro related rather than being serious. But, if it bothers you, I think you should definatly talk to your doctor about it. Take Care

Just today I was having sharp pains in my abdomen (it has happened to me a few times before)!! And the other day I had severe pains in my pelvis, I just layed there in the fetile position until it went away.

I do hope you are feeling better

I to have been getting sharp pains in right side flank area. I keep thinking it is gallbladder. But it goes away with advil. Got to go see doctor after holidays.

I have had blinding pains due to my food allergieswhich they originally thought was IBS.  It can be paralyzing, there have been times when I have had to remind myself to breathe!
