We are glad to have you. We love our moderators!! They always are there to go that extra step and I know that I could go to any one of them with a problem. They do this extra work just because they are loving & caring people and want to help others. So, thank you for caring and look forward to getting to know you!

Oh thanks you guys!  I have a lot to learn about my own Fibro yet. I'm still a baby when it comes to that part of my health issues. I know it's really tough for the current mods in the Lupus forum right now.  Everyone is feeling overwhelmed, tired and in need of a break.  So it's good timing for me to come back to moderating there.

 

I look foward to spending more time here and learning more!

For two years I have struggkled with Fibro, BiPolar and caring for my Dad who has Alzheimers and is slipping fast. I don't think I could do this w/o the Healing Well Forum. It has saved me, personally as well as given me the strength to care for Dad. We all know how vital the Moderators are. Welcome aboard, Ginny.

     Welcome, are you able to tell us where your from or at least what state your in?  I'm very new and not sure of the rules.  I've had Fibro. for over a year now almost 2 and I started taking lyrica a week ago because I hurt so bad.  I took Hydrocodone/ApAp7.5/500wat and Naproxen 500mg........And I hurt so bad my legs,thighs,back,head,arms,face........I rubbed my legs and I rubbed, and I RUBBED I THOUGHT THE SKIN WAS GOING COME OFF MY PALMS BUT IT DIDN'T and I could hardly walk and it took me 20-30 steps to be able to 3/4 of the way straigten up....First of all I have no health ins. since my husband lost his job last year after 26yrs on the job......it went to Mexico!!! anyway for a 30 day supply it was over $ 230.00which I could pay for and then the dr. gave me a coupon for a weeks supply and man the suckers worked, so I went yesterday to the same drug store and they told meIIIII can only use 1 coupon a year.....but yet side effects with sudden withdraw can really bad.  And I know in about 3 weeks I'll get them free...thank the good lord, from Pfizer I got to get my paper work that I just received in the mail yesterday and then it takes2-3 weeks for them to process the paper work!!   I swear to you I don't know how to make it without this med.  I HURT SO BAD I CALLED A VERY GOOD FRIEND AT 4:30A.M. CUZ' I HURT SO BAD......NICE TO MEET YOU AND I'M SO SORRY TO DUMP ON YOU LIKE THIS YOUR FIST TIME ON BUT I REALLY NEED HELP.....P.S.  I ALSO HAVE ANEXITY AND VERY BAD DEPRESSION......GOD BLESS YOU!!    LINDA

Linda, welcome to the forum. I can tell by your post that you're struggling. I also have anxiety and depression. I've been able to find relief with Zoloft. It's not a cure, but I'm so much better.  Are you taking anything for your anxiety and depression?  I also take Neurontin (Gabapentin) for my Fibro pain. It's working like a charm!  It's also very inexpensive!  Have you tried it?

 

I'm actually in Canada. I live in the province of Alberta(right over top of Montana and Idaho). We have universal health care up here which is literally a life saver. My husband has good medical benefits from his job too. I know how expensive drugs can be. I hope your paperwork from Pfizer goes through very quickly.

 

Can I pray for you? You ended your posting with "God bless you", so I'm assuming that some prayers would be a good thing!! I look forward to talking to you too.

Hi Linda,

And welcome to the fibro forum. I just wanted to let you know htat we have a wonderful anxiety and depression forum as well. Pop in anytime that you feel the need to. There are a lot of wonderful understanding members there as there are here.

Check out the fibro101 thread. It is the second thread. There is a wealth of information on there.

i also get terrible pain in my thighs and legs-usually a burning, gnawing pain, but i also get shooting electricity like pains in my legs, too. medications don't do a thing for me, though.

Wow you guys. You sure do know how to make a person feel welcome and part of the group! This really is a wonderful Fibro family.

 

Linda, I also get the leg and back pain. It can be excruciating sometimes. My lower back is really bad and the pain radiates into both hips and then down my legs. Like Danielle, it's usually a burning, gnawing pain.  Good description Danielle. 

 

I found that putting a memory foam mattress cover on the bed has helped a lot. Takes the pressure off of certain areas. I have a memory foam pillow for my neck too. My neck pain makes me cry....

Hi, Linda, and welcome!  Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibromyalgia.  There is a link to the list of symptoms and you can check there to see if what you have matches up.  That helps ease some fears.

 

We are here to help so ask questions, read the Fibro 101 thread, and read back posts.  You can get a lot of info from them.  Also, at the top of the page you will see "Google custom search".  You can type in each medication and it will show all the posts that talk about them.  That should help you too.  I don't take those meds but some on here do.  Hope to hear more from  you soon.

dear sleepybug,

     time to wake up a minute unless your hurting.......then keep on resting.....I'm my thighs, legs, lower back, across my shoulder blades, my shoulders, neck, head and this really sounds stupid but my face hurts too!!   thank you for caring about me and God bless u....I'll check in later  if my meds don't kick in...please say a prayer for me.....God knows i could use it......see ya later my friend......linda

I truly would be honored to have you pray for me........i have fibro, depression, anxiety and my others. i have a total of 15 ailments. and several of these are on here think God!! and thank you to all you members just to know that their's some one who's been their and under stand is s God sin.......thank for any prayers i'd should get.....
