Rozerem for Sleep

I'm thinking of trying Rozerem for sleep. The combo clonazepam and amitriptyline are just leaving me too dopey and dry in the mornings. It's bad enough having the fog and also sinus problems so that I have to breath through my mouth.

So, would anyone currently using Rozerem or who has tried it care to comment on it's effectiveness and side effects?

I haven't taken rozerem, but the side effects don't sound bad. I hope that you have good luck with it. I take ambien and it works well for me. I could sleep all day long if I was allowed to, so I don't have any problems falling asleep. But I don't get a restful sleep without the ambien.

My doc gave me a 12 pack sampler complete with ear plugs and an eye mask. I tried it for 6 days. It made me soooo drowsy the next day, all day. I would fall asleep mid-sentence in the late afternoon. It is not supposed to do that, but then again, I only get the really weird side affects.

It may work very well for you since we are all so different. Good Luck.

Thanks for your replies. From what I've read Rozerem seems to have fewer side effects than Ambien. I seem to tolerate most drugs pretty well so will give the Rozerem a try.

No matter how tired I am physically when I go to bed I just can't shut down my darn brain!

-23 C here today. This extreme cold seems to make everything hurt more. Must be from contraction of the muscles. I have to concentrate on keeping them relaxed. Just got out of bed 3 hours ago and now ready for a nap.

Oh well...

I have an RX for it. I have a really strange side affect off of it, so I do not like to take it often because my husband is disabled.

I go to sleep okay, but to me, I feel like I can not move any of my body parts except my mouth. I can carry on a conversation almost, but I have to wake my husband up to help me out of bed and to the bathroom. Once I am up, I can take care of myself, but I can't move without the hlep at first.

My dr. says that I have weird side affects to all of my medications though. LOL I do not feel hung over, but I do sleep for a long time, so be near the bed when you take it.

For me the Rozerem (along with Ambien CR) works pretty good and I haven't noticed any side effects, I'm not drowsy the next day and I don't get that loopy feeling when it hits like I did with the regular Ambien. I know that it sounds like a huge punch (both sleep meds) but I don't sleep at all if i don't take them. I can't just take one or the other, it has to be both of them. It still takes 3-4 hours for me to fall asleep and I STILL wake up during the night, but I do at least get some sleep. I think it would be worth trying it and your doc could give you a sample pack to try before you buy, that way you could get an idea if it's gonna work for you. Good luck!
