Hi, TAM, and welcome! I had a niece who had a bad reaction to Levaquin last year too. She could barely move and her joints ached really badly. She couldn't take care of her children and had to be on bed rest so her mother came, all the way from Serbia, to take care of the children and the house. It took her many, many months to get back to normal so some of this pain could be caused from the Levaquin. I know that I will never take the stuff after seeing what happened to her. But, we have one mod, Jeannie, who said that Levaquin saved her life so who knows. But for me, my life would have to be endangered before I'd take it! LOL
As Karen said, check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum. You will find a list of symptoms and some great stretching exercises that could help you. Try to keep moving as much as you can because if you sit or lay too long you will be stiff as a board.
Some members have a Bed Buddy. You can get them at Walgreen's and other places. But, you can make your own bed buddy using a tube sock. Fill the sock 2/3's full of raw long grained rice and tie a knot in the end of it. Voila! a homemade bed buddy! You can microwave this and it gives off moist heat. The moisture is in the rice! Hot showers feel wonderful, too.
I use ibuprofen with food and extra strength Tylenol for pain. I also take malic acid/magnesium supplements for pain and fatigue. There is a link all about these in the Fibro 101 thread. Lastly, I take extra vitamin D3. You might want to be checked for vitamin D deficiency since many with fibro have this problem. Since I started taking more D3, my pain has decreased and I'm not as fatigued either.n I was checked by my doctor, by the way, and was deficient in vitamin D.
Anyway, I'm so glad you found us! You have come to a good place. We have wonderful people on here that have good ideas to help you live a full and enjoyable life with fibro. Plus, we really do care about one another. So, read the Fibro 101 thread, back posts, and ask questions. We are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
