I had always had fairly painful periods but after having kids, they got better. Now that I have FM, not only is the actual period worse, but the PMS is a nightmare! Everyone knows when it's that time because I am cranky, mean, emotional, and worst of all it puts me into a flare every time. It starts with pain in my abdomen the week before, then the sides of my ribcage begin to hurt, my chin breaks out like I'm a teenager with acne problems, then I get a dull migraine that lasts until after the first day of my period if I'm lucky. I have also noticed more irregularities with my period. I never know when it's coming. This month, I was terrified that I might be pregnant because I couldn't remember when my last one was (darn the fog). That taught me a great lesson...write everything down in a place I look every day (otherwise I'll just forget where I wrote it).Overall, I am learning to take it easy when I feel it all coming on. I wish I had some better advise for you. But I am still looking for ways to deal with what FM does to my body.
