Well, I went to my family doctor today, and filled him in on the Vicodin issue. He flat out said "No" to prescribing it to me. He basically said he wouldn't prescribe it for fibromyalgia to anyone, even though I told him it had worked wonders for my life! I have felt better taking it than I have in years! He said that he didn't want me to have 2 problems...having fibromyalgia, and being addicted to a drug. So....he gave my Lyrica, which I took this afternoon, and feel like I have taken two Xanax (which I am also prescribed, but rarely take). I could lie down right now and go to sleep! And...to top it off, I looked at our insurance and they won't allow me to have greater than a 30 day prescript
ion, because it is a controlled substance, and he has written the prescript
ion for me to take 2 per day! :(
I'm am very discouraged. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist in a few weeks, but have already seen one a few years ago to no benefit. I'm wondering if I should try to find a pain management clinic? Any advice?
Thanks so much for caring,
DonniesGirl
