Narcotic's Everyday?

I feel sometimes like I have to take narcotics everyday. Then every once in a while I will wake up and feel completely normal and only need my lyrica and cymbalta.

Does anyone else have to take narcotics for periods at a time? Also I have this new pain in my left arm between my elbow and wrist. Its so sore it feels like I'm holding about 10 heavy grocery bags. I guess that is all part of fibro. I'm feeling so stiff and sore today. Fighting migranes this week too. But I know that "This too will pass"...

Oh my, sounds just like me....

Last week I had such terrible, terrible migraines. I saw my pcp last friday and got some Imitrex, yeah, so maybe now I can stop it quicker. They are so awful. I take my narcotics only as needed, so when times get too intense I break them out. But like these last two days I am walking taller, feel pretty dang good, except for my allergy attack.

I hope you find a little relief with your arm and getting over that migraine, don't over do it today. Rest yourself, I know "this to shall pass" for you.

I wish this pain would go away atleast for a little while. It seems to be pretty constant. I often wonder if the Lyrica helps I think it does, but I don't think the cymbolta helps me at all.

Imitrex didn't do anything for me when they tried it on me. I'm glad you are able to get relief from it. I know that eventually I will be feeling better!

How exciting!!! Even though you can't talk about it, if it's helping you that is wonderful!!! Hopefully when the time is right you will be able to share and it can help others!!!!!!

 

I didn't really notice being drowsy, but I started at a very small dose and worked my way up, what is did notice...is the weight gain. I've gained about 20 pounds since being on it for about 1 yr. I would be much worse without it but the extra weight it killing my knees. I do feel drowsy but I always thought is was from the general fatigue of Fibro and not sleeping good.

I learned from psych meds how to not get the dreaded weight gain. For me it is a matter of total change in eating habits. Basically if it isn't healthy I can not touch it. Sacrifice I am willing to make for the lyrica. I do not have as much pain on it. It does make me drowsy but I am hoping that effect will go away eventually. I too am having horrid headaches the last couple of weeks. Maybe allergies or weather change. Hope everyone is doing well and it is getting warmer for everyone.

My mother and I share fibro as well as other aches and pains. She also has rheumatoid arthritis and a whole list of other things, but she takes multiple Darvocet on a daily basis. I'm sorry you are hurting!

I was wondering if when you are on the lyrica, is it that you gain weight because it gives you an appetite like when you take predisone? Or you just gain weight no matter what? I noticed some meds i've been on give you a bigger appetite you have to fight.. or find better replacement foods that aren't so fatty. Trust me i know that is hard when you are craving the comfort foods.
