Hi, and welcome! I'm so glad that you found us and joined in. Yes, fibro can be a real pain! But, we will give you some ideas to try to help you control the pain and live a full and enjoyable life with fibro.
I see you have been directed to the Fibro 101 thread. There are links to good info about fibro and you can sure learn a lot there.
In the Fibro 101 thread, there is a link about malic acid/magnesium supplements. I use these and they have helped me a lot. They don't work for everyone but they have helped many on this forum. Check out that link. It gives info about them and how they work in your body. Possibly they could help you too. It's worth asking your doctor about.
Hot showers and moist heat help with fibro. Many use a Bed Buddy, too. You can get these at Walgreens and other places. Or, you can make your own by taking a tube sock, filling it 2/3's full of raw long grained rice, and tying a knot at the end. Pop it in the microwave and it gives off moist heat due to the moisture in the rice. This feels great on those poor, aching muscles.
It is important to keep moving. If you sit or lay too much, you will be stiff as a board. Gentle stretching really helps and there is a link in the Fibro 101 thread with some great stretching exercises that you can do sitting down. These really do help! Also walking is wonderful for you and is a good weight-bearing exercise that helps keep your bones strong too. Swimming is great too if you have access to a pool.
I'm really glad that you are here now. Read back posts and ask questions, too. We are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
