Hi, Donna, and welcome! I'm so glad you found us and joined in. Oh, I love cats, too. I have two feral cats that we rescued about six years ago and they don't even want to stick their nose out of the house now! LOL They do like the screened in lanai but that's about it.
Now to your problems. You probably are just in a flare. I find that when I'm in a flare I don't breathe deeply either...probably because of the pain. I notice I take little short breaths and then I feel like I'm not getting a good deep breath. That's probably some anxiety playing into it. So I really try to take some slow, deep breaths to help out. Asthma runs in my family and I have had a "touch" of it occasionally and it sure isn't fun. I hope you have that under control.
I take ibuprofen and extra strength Tylenol for pain and malic acid/magnesium for pain and fatigue. That doesn't help everyone but some have gotten relief...me included. I also take extra vitamin D because I'm deficient in it. That can cause pain and fatigue, too.
I haven't stopped caffeine. I'm a tea drinker and there isn't nearly as much caffeine in tea as there is in coffee but it still will help wake me up in the mornings. I will have tea in the afternoon when I start to poop out, too. Other than that, I'm a water drinker. I don't do sodas very often and when I do it is Fresca...no caffeine. So, I guess I don't get that much caffeine...unless I hit the chocolate!
Be sure and check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro there...including a link all about malic acid/magnesium supplements and how they work in the body.
Meanwhile, read back posts and ask questions. We will try to answer them the best we can. I'm so glad you are here and I hope to hear more from you soon.
