I always called Vesta my little angel, and today she became one.  That's all I can say..my heart is broken but she is free.  Thanks to all of you who have asked about her over the past few weeks.  She truly has earned her wings.

Donna,

I am so sorry! cry I know that there is nothing I can say to help heal your broken heart. Please know that you were an amazing mommy to your baby. I hope that my Katie was there to welcome her (well, she might have run if Vesta liked to chase kitties). tongue Anyway, if there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.

Oh, Donna sad

I am so sorry Vesta has left us. I know how very much you loved her and even though I never met her, just by reading your stories about her, I grew to love her, too. You are right, she is free now, but I can only imagine how much you must miss her. Just know that you were a wonderful human mama to her during her time here on earth and the love you shared will never go away.

Donna, Vesta is free from any discomfort now.  She stayed with you for 18 years and that sure is a testimony as to your loving care.  I'm so sorry but am here for you.

Your angel is looking down at you with big lovey eyes as she runs free with no pain and says thank you for giving me an earthly angel mommy...

Donna,

My heart goes out to you. Take peace in knowing your angel is not having to struggle in any way for any thing. I'm sure that Vesta loved you just as much as you loved her

I wish your pain to be lessened tonight as you remember all the wonderful time that you had with her. Try to get some rest for your body while your heart tries to recover.

I know what a struggle it was for you and your DH to come to the decision you made Donna but no more struggles for Vesta.

 

Kelly, don't you think in heaven cats and dogs are the best of friends??? I don't think God would allow dogs to chase cats.

Such gentle hugs for you! I am so sorry for your painful loss of Vesta but as others have said and as you know, she is in a better place now. You and your husband did the right thing, the most unselfish act of love you could have done for Vesta. You realized the time was right which, believe me, is such a torment, such a struggle, so stressful, when you love your animals as we love them.

Donna, now is the time to take care of you. You've been through a lot, I can only imagine, having been through it myself just last month with Cassidy. Try to focus on the good times with Vesta. Your tears and heartache will eventually begin to fade and in its place, all the joy and love she brought you for 18 years. Her devotion and unconditional love, that is what you will keep in your heart, and will take away that owie that is there now.

Thank you all for your kind words.  I am dog sitting my son's lab rescue puppy a few days this week and maybe that will take the edge off.

Hope you all enjoyed your long week-end with friends and family...and pets.   Pain free, of course.

Donna, I'm so sorry to hear about Vesta passing. I have gone thru that loss too many times. I am so glad that you found each other so many yrs ago. 18 wonderful yrs of loving and BEING loved, that says so much about the two of you.

I believe that when it is our time to pass, all of our loving pets will be waiting for us - ready to run and play just like they did down here.  When I go, I'm wearing my sneakers, so I'm ready!

Time helps I guess, but I can still see a picture of one of my babies and I lose it. I am sending you gentle hugs, talk about her when you feel like it. I still talk about my babies, it does help.

Donna Dear...

I'm so sorry I haven't been around the past few days. 

I wanted to give you my most sincere sympathy.  I know how much you loved her and you must be so heartbroken.  I truly feel your pain.

Now Vesta and Zeke are together on the Rainbow Bridge and they will look out for us, together. 

Oh dear friend.. I am so with you right now.  We can think of our "babies" together.

Dear Donna,

I am late to respond but so sad about your loss of Vesta. It is just one of the hardest things we go through. Patti Panda suffered so badly with her Zeke passing. They are running through the fields together happy and free.

I traveled to NH for awhile and have been very busy but missed you and everyone of my Fibro family.
