My son has this type of learning disability. His brain has to rearrange the letters to try to make sense of the word. It caused him horrific problems in mainstream schools. We had to get him into a different type of school where experiencial learning was the norm. The youngsters at this new school, learned by taste, touch, smell, and actually going out into the field to experience the phenomena they were learning about
. Written words on a blackboard was pure frustration, for him. Too bad there aren't more mainstream schools offering alternatives. This school bankrupt me, but it was worth every moment of bewilderment.
