meds for fibro?

hope it is o.k. to ask..........i waas wondering if the drugs im on for fibro [only] are similar to what yalls dr. prescribes?

heres my list.....

lyrica 150 mg. 2x a day [pain]

cymbalta 60mg. 2x day [depression and pain]

ritilin 20mg. 2 in a.m. 1 in afternoon ( for focus and extreme fatigue ]

percocet 5 mg. up tto 4 a day for pain

was on lyrica 225 mg. 2x a day but dropped it down due to spaciness but now i do have more pain!!! [

always tradeoffs]

fish oil 1500 mg. day

thanks ahead for your input

I don't take any of that.  I take ibuprofen with food, extra strength Tylenol, malic acid/magnesium supplements, and Vitamin D3.  I keep moving and do light exercising and gentle stretches.  I also get massages that really help me.  Yes, I still have pain but it is managable.  (That's my trade-off)  So do you!  But I have no spaciness, dizziness, etc.

I take medications similar to yours. But don't have the spaciness, are you sure that it isn't just fibrofog?

i am beginning to think that it must be fibro fog.....hate to try and decrease my lyrica even more to see if it helps.....but can see a big diff. in my pain level increasing since lowering my dose. think ill just stay where i am and deal with it as best i can. thanks or your input, you too sherrine.

Yes somewhat, I was on Lyrica 300 mgs X2 the 225X2 for pain but I got too much all over swelling so now I am coming off of Lyrica

I will be taking Opana CR for pain

and Percocet for break-thru pain if needed

I did take cymbalta too, but I did not find a benefit for me in taking it

I take provigil to stay awake and

royal jelly for engergy

and cats claw to help with fibro symtoms

For me it does sound normal but may not be for others....

lyrica 150mg 2x day

lortab 5 1 every 6 hours as needed (although tab 5s dont do much so I double up on them)

luvox 100 mg 1x at night

trazodone 150mg 1x at night

flexeril 10mg 3x day

fioricet 50-325-40mg 4x day

meclizine 12.5 mg 3x day as needed for dizziness

i think that is all of mine.

Neurontin 800-3200 mg/day
Zanaflex up to 24 mg/day
Visteril up to 50 md/day
Tramadol 100mg every 6 hrs for moderate pain
Lortab 5 1-2 every 4 hours for severe pain
Oxaprozin 1000 mg/day
Benedryl 50mg at night
Ambien CR 12.5 at night

Vit D3, B12, E
malic acid
magnesium

I quit Lyrica because of the "Spaciness" and I was not on as high a dosage as you. To me the pain is better than the constant fog.

i agree that we all seem to be different in what works for us - and what we need.
I am just weaning off the same dose of cymbalta as you take, Evolving (I love your name), as I really didn't feel it was helping. I am trying now to see if Tylenol and occasional muscle relaxant at night will help.
I also think that are bodies change over time, and sometimes we need to adjust medications.

We are all diferent - and our doctors are all diferent, unfortunately. :-)

But your meds list looks typical for at least the classes of medication that I se others being prescribed.

Here is my list.

Meloxicam(Mobic) 15mg/day

Cymbalta 120mg/day

Tizanidine(Zanaflex) up to 24mg/day

Trazodone 50mg/day

Lyrica 150mg/day

Vit D 5000IU/day

Fish oil 4000mg/day

B12 2500 mcg/day

Glutamine 3 grams/day- 2 month regimine

probiotics 20billionCFU/day

Hi Guys,

I am currently on Lyrica 450mg daily.
Savella 50 mg daily, but in titration stage
Vit. D2 50,000IU weekly
Levoxyl .112mcg daily
Melatonin 5mg nightly before bed (it works)

The Lyrica has helped with my neck pain and shoulder pain. I am still in quite a bit of pain, but I am hoping the combo of Savella with the Lyrica will prove promising.

I am not allowed to take anything right now due to me trying the Savella with the Lyrica.

How does fish oil help people who have fibro? I was on adderall xr but had to go off of it because of the bad, really bad headaches I was getting. Does ritalin give you bad headaches?
When school starts I'll have to go on something for adhd other wise I buss around the room kinda like my students do.
