Swollen glands

Does anyone get swollen glands in their throat?  Mine have been swollen for at least 2 months, maybe even before that.  I saw my doctor in early June.  He put me on Cipro because I went to him about a bad spider bite.  He said Cipro would take care of a bacterial infection if that was what I had.  I've notice lately when I'm fixing my hair that my throat still looks swollen on both sides.  I don't have any pain.  He did test me for strep and that was negative.  I'm scheduled to see him next month for a cholesterol check up.  I did read the list of symptoms that Chutz posted on Fibro 101 and didn't  think I saw gland problems.

Thanks Lost.  I do have my thyroid checked because I am on Synthroid.  It was o.k. in June.  I have allergies that affect my sinuses.  I'm thinking this could be the problem.  I'm going to make sure my dr. rules out any bad stuff when I go to him.  I was just hoping it was a fibro thing.

I get swollen glands too, they come and go and last varying durations. I don't know if it is a symptom of fibro but my guess id that it probably could be. The glands swell in response to activation of white blood cells being gererated to fight off infection. Other glands can do the same thing. I get other endocrine glands that swell, too. I don't worry unless I haver other severe cold or flu symptoms.
Some research shows that fibro is related to an immune system anbormality which would explain the swollen glands.

When my glands are swollen it is a sign that the chronic fatigue is flaring. I immediately rest for a few days so that it will not become worse.

Your doctor, however, can make the best diagnosis for you.
