any suggestions please?

my dr. put mr on ritalin for my extreme fatigue.... the second week i was on it was pure heaven! i had motivation to do things , my thoughts were a normal consistency.... my speech was clear and at a normal rate, i didnt sound druggy or drunk.....my mind seemed actually normal.{i had forgotten how nice that was!!}that lasted about  week and a half and then it was gone!!!!!!!my dr.upped my dose but no more magic effect. i know that the body does not get adjusted to a drug so fast that the dose has to be increased so soon.people are usually on drugs for months or years befor the body builds up a tolerance to them. i think he is now considering adderall for a trial. have yall had any luck with it? i reallly actually hate that i had that wonderfully clear experience...just to have lost it so soon.it have been one of the most depressing and dissappointing experiences ive ever had. please give me your input on the ritalin or any other drugs that improve my above symptoms. i know that people do not enjoy talking to someone who is contantly searching for the right word, searching for simply.......simple words or names, i actually sound like i have alzheimers. {which actully my father had } by the way i was on lyrica 225 2x daily and have dropped my dose to 150 2x daily the first of june to see if mybe the ritalin would work better. any help will be very much appreciated. im so discouraged.   {i have had to make so many corrections in this e mail my fingers are tired}

My son was ADHD and was on Ritilin, too.  It does have the opposite reaction with these kids.

When the fog rolled in for me, I thought I had Alzheimer's, too.  I shed many a tear over it.  I used to teach but now I can't remember the simplest things.  But, I have found that since I know what is causing the problem and relaxed about it, my memory is better. 

Stressing over it will not help it but it can make it worse.  When I can't remember a word, instead of racking my brain, I just say I'll remember it later...and I do!  It's like my brain shorts out.  But, really try to relax about it.  It is a cognitive memory problem caused by fibro.  You are still an intelligent person but you have a health problem that is causing this.  This is how I explain it to friends who ask me.

Just a word about Lyrica, in my experience it caused my short term memory loss to worsen. Have been off it for a year but still have memeory loss. Maybe just the fibro fog, but I do know Lyrica made a difference (made it wose.)
