I was really upset about this.  My massage therapist and I have become good friends.  When we scheduled my appointment for September she blocked off additional time because she was going to bring lunch for both of us.  I have been looking forward to this for a month! 

 

I knew in my mind that it was this Friday.  I got out my recipe file this morning and picked out a dessert to bring and wrote any needed ingredients on my shopping list for tomorrow.  Then I just putzed around the house, in my grubby clothes with no make-up, all morning.  about 11:30 AM my massage therapist called.  My appointment had been for today!  By the time I could manage to get dressed and get to her office, it would be too late.  So, I've missed out on my time I was so looking forward to.  You see, I never bothered to turn the page on my calendar.  My massage last month was on Friday and I usually get an appointment on the same day but she was planning around bring lunch for us so the day was different.  UGH!

 

The really bad part about all of this she had planned to bring a lunch for us last March.  I cancelled the appointment because the economy was so bad and I was in a terrible frame of mind.  I didn't start going back to her until last month so she wanted to do the lunch because we had missed it before.  All I can say is, "Fibro Fog stinks!"

Oh, Sherrine...I'm so sorry you missed out!  I will be happy to send Toe Jam or Eddie the Claw to your house, as massage therapy is their specialty.  Just hide your jewelry and don't look them straight in the eye.  You know the drill.

BTW...what one earth is a recipie box???  LOL!  I'm thinking it has something to do with preparing food from scratch?  Hmmm.  I'll have to try that some time!

Sherrine, Fibro Fog does stnk; especially when you miss out on something you were
looking forward to. I am sorry you missed out on your massage and lunch.

I keep two calendars and still mess up sometimes, but that is the nature of Fibro Fog.
I been using post-it notes alot lately and it has been helping.

You will have to plan another lunch and massage and I know next time you are not
going to miss it.

That is sad Sherrine to miss something you were really looking forward to. cry I have my laptop on a table I got at Walgreens that is multi positional and there is just enough room beside it for a two year planner that I have to write everything on or we would never make it to an app, I keep track of Ken's doc apps too. Which reminds me I have to get the card out of my purse to see when Krissy gets her stitches out. I always make my next hair app when I get it trimmed and always on a Fri afternoon at 2:00.

 

I also write the bills for the month on a 4x6 card with the dates the bills are due and keep it on top of my calender and I just noticed our cable bill is due today so thanks for making me look.

 

I know Donna, let me think when I last made something from scratch??? No can't remember. We are having step-grandson's birthday party Sat and a cookout with DIL's family and she told me I could pick something up if I wanted to cause everyone is bringing a dish, sure didn't take that girl long to get to know me smilewinkgrin

Marlee - Krissy stitches??? What happened? Wasn't it just her first birthday? What you have done to that precious little girl??? I need details!!!

Miriam, Krissy was spayed.  She is fine.  Marlee will fill you in but I didn't want you to worry.

Oh Sherrine, I so hate it when that happens.  I'm sorry you missed something that you were looking forward to.  Hopefully, you will be able to get back in the massage "groove" again.

 

A few years ago, something similar happened to me (except this person was someone I wouldn't necessarily want to go to lunch with, lol devil ).  My daughter was in a summer arts camp, and I attended her end of camp play.  It totally slipped my mind that I had an appt. with a counselor at the same time.  I got a call the next day from the office and was told that I would be charged for the missed appt.  I apologized and sent a payment.  I completely understood why she decided to charge me.

 

A couple of weeks later, the same counselor wrote my appt. time down wrong and missed an appt. with ME!  Needless to say, I requested my money back from my error.  The office did refund my payment, but I ended up finding another counselor because we weren't really a very good "fit" (for other reasons, not the missed appt , but I did think about the whole plank and splinter bible verse :-) ).

 

We all have visits from the "forgetful monster."  Unfortunately, for us fibromites, sometimes he moves in to stay.  turn

Okay Sherrine I did it too. I made an eye app and wrote it down somewhere to put on my calendar and have no idea where. So much for my advice.

 

Oh dear Miriam, when I called to have Krissy spayed when she was young is when I found out our vet had a stroke and was expected to make a full recovery. Decided to let her come into heat once rather than have someone else do it. Thank goodness he is back to work full time, he is such a sweet man, so she was spayed on the 27th. She only has three outside stitches that need to be removed on the 11th. She was pretty sore for a few days and needed help getting up and down on the furniture but she is fine now. One down one to go.

Oh Marlee, you made me cringe. I used to have cats, and I've already done the spay thing, so it shouldn't bother me. But we got 2 adorable little kittens last month, I'm not looking forward to that experience again. We were only supposed to get 1, but the kids couldn't agree on one. The boys picked a gray tabby and called her Crash. The girls picked a long haired calico and named her Peaches :)

Speaking of the cats, here's my foggy moment for the day.
I saw movement out of the corner of my eye, started freaking out, what on earth, what could it be? Am I imagining seeing things now? A ghost? I completely forgot that we had the cats! Did I ever feel dumb :S lol

sorry to hear you missed your lunch its moments like that i think we all look forward to keep our souls lifted... this morning i got up same time as evvery day when my 3 year old gitts up lol so sleepy i had been on the phone till 3 am with a friend thats haveing a hard time and went to make my son his eggs and make my self a pot of coffee then went to let the dogs out when i got back r was in shock i had forgoten to put the coffee pot in the coffee maker . To say the least omg what a mess coffee every whare floor, counter, and to top it off i had forgoten to turn the stove on, not a great start to the day lol ..... it got better i was cleaning up the mess when my ather 2 kids came in and started lol it became a coffee party !!!!!

I am SO sorry to hear that, Sherrine! I am sorry that you missed out on something you were really looking forward to. :(

I know how hard Fibro-fog is and you are right - it DOES stink!! It causes me more problems than the pain does.
