I'm new to all this and have just been diagnosed about a month ago.  My Dr. wants me to start taking 75mg. of Lyrica twice daily but I'm kind of nervous to start it.  Info for you all on your experiences with Lyrica wouldbe greatly appreciated.

Also....who out there works full time and who had to give up work either completly of reduce there hours.  Is anyone on permanent disability because of it?  I can't imagine working 40 hours a week, every week with my body so sore and tired that I don't even want to move some days.  Please respond with any info you have.  Im really feeling lost.

I am sorry that you too have to deal with Fibro . shakehead I would not Wish this on anyone.

you have come to a great place there are lots of people here that have great advise , very supportive, and seem to really care. and the big one is yes ..we do understand what your going through.. mind you we are all Different in our symptoms and how sever and Meds that work or don't ..

 

I personally do take Lyrica.. have been for as long as I've known I have Fibro...Started me on the 75 too. and worked me up pretty fast to the max does of 450 mg a day .. one 150 mg pill three times a day...

 

it was not that hard for me to get on it.. some nausea, a Rash. , blurred vision , but this would come and go depending on how tired I am ..

 

I have been trying to come off it lately .. as it makes my feet ,hands swell... the blurred vision was a problem while trying to read my computer screen while working. , I  have noticed since dropping down on lyrica that my hands don't hurt as much and my feet from the swelling I guess...so that's Good ... it has been hard for me to come off. and had to stop at 150 one pill a day .. we stopped there as it was making me very Ill trying to wean off.

 

I do know a lot of people that it has really helped.. when I first started it I am sure it helped me and helped get me out of bed. as I was almost bedridden with pain.  like said we are all so Different when it comes to meds.

 

I do still work . thank goodness. yeah but I did demote myself and now work from home.. I work a split shift 4 hours on 2 off and then 4 more hours.. I really  don't think I would be able to drive into an office every day ..that would be just to much I barley do this.. but am Blessed to have this option . Working from home is great ...no body can see you or what you  are wearing lOL.

 

you can try doing a search on lyrica on this board I'm sure you should get lots of previous post regarding this...and working .

 

I know that we must keep moving , specially on those days when you just want to curl up in a ball from the pain. I normally start doing stretches for my shoulder blades as this is one of my worst spots for pain.  

 

Sorry my responses tend to ramble... well sorry I don't have more for you ..

lyrica is supposed to be great. any minor side effects should go away pretty quick. its like the gold standard of treatments now.

i'm on full disability for six years now. for soc sec use lawyer like binder and binder.

I take 150mg of Lyrica. So far, that is as much as I have needed to get the benefit. I was first put on 75mg 2x a day. I couldn't handle how sleepy I was from the morning dose, so now I take the full dose at night. It works for me. I do not want to be without it.
