Hi everyone, I've been in and out keeping up on posts but haven't posted much lately. I have been having some really bad flare ups & it seems like my pain meds are not working anymore or maybe the pain is getting worse?

 

Last week I ended up in the hospital with some very heavy vaginal bleeding. ( I haven't had periods in over 2 years) Doctor was concerned & so was I. After some testing, was told my Thyroid was high? or something like that and I had a very bad Urinary Tract infection. They had no idea what was causing the bleeding though.

 

My doctor wants to send me for some more tests to see what's up with the bleeding. I see her Tuesday to discuss my Thyroid and also some of the test results that she has gotten back. I'm praying it is nothing serious, but I've always been afraid of Cancer since it runs in the family.

 

On top of all that, I am having so much pain in my legs and knees lately! I can hardly get up and down the 3 steps on our porch!! I feel like I am losing it most days. I'm on enough meds as it is & it looks like I'm in store for more. I've tried mild exercising to help with my pain, but not getting anywhere. Just don't know what to try anymore.

 

I am working more & more from home. I go into the office 3 times a week to catch up on paperwork and bills and answer the phone from home. I know I'm lucky to have a job that I can do that, because I know I would never be able to hold down a regular job anymore. Even that is too much for me some days...

 

I guess I just needed to get some much needed relief by spilling everything to someone. I know you all understand, so thank you for listening!! Please keep me in your prayers that my test results don't show anything serious.        Hugs,

Hi springfling, I am sorry you ended up in the hospital; how scary for you. I hope your
test results will be good. Sending prayers and gentle hugs your way.

The change in the weather has made alot of us more achy. I see you have osteoarthritis
too. I understand the pain in the knees and legs, sometimes they just throb; don't they?
Remember, heat is our friend; heating pads and hot baths feel good. I do gentle stretching
before I even get out of bed in the morning because I am so stiff. Take it easy and try not
to overdo.

Hi...wonder if the vaginal bleeding could have been a ruptured cyst on an ovary?  Just a thought...I was standing in the line at the grocery store years ago and just started to bleed all over the floor.  Went directly to the hospital...they had no clue as the cyst had ruptured and was no longer there, but  I continued to bleed for a week.  It happened again a month later and that's when they discovered it.  I had no pain either time.

Also having leg and knee pain.  Feels like someone is jabbing a hot poker into the side of my knees.

Feel better and I hope you have some answers soon.

Margie I hope they get to the root of the bleeding and it is nothing serious.

 

I think it is the lovely weather we have been having that is causing the extra pain. I have been hurting places I don't normally hurt and where I normally hurt has been almost unbearable at times. I have come close to trying a pain pill. More rain in the forecast so hang in there.

 

Yes, it seems like you have the ideal job for a fibromite.

I too hope that the bleeding is nothing serious. I hope you find out what is going on soon. Just know that we are thinking about you and praying for you.

I do hope they get to the bottom of this soon and that it is nothing serious. Hang in there. Sending some good thoughts you way that you will start to feel better soon too. After I great summer, I am starting to feel the effects of the cold weather too.

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts! I'm hanging in there and hoping for the best. The sun is at least shining today, so that has lifted my spirits greatly!

Although my hubby really made me mad today......I've been limping around here because my knees and legs are so bad right now & he just had to make a comment that the reason I am having all these problems is because I'm lazy! I have tried & tried to get him to go to my doctor appointments with me, but he won't go.

I don't get him sometimes. One day he is very caring and understanding, the next he's making stupid comments like this. Oh well, not the first one who doesn't believe in Fibro pain & probably not the last!!

HI, I'm sorry you are in so much pain. I come to this forum because I know there are people here who can say, "I know exactly how that feels!" For me, my really bad pain days also concentrate in my knees and hips, and it is agony to even walk or get up from a chair.

Just before I had my hysterectomy, I landed in the ER in 2002 with uterine hemorrhaging. I was conducting a training class at the time - I could feel the floodgates open and got faint (hope that's not TMI), calmly clamped my legs together as I introduced the next speaker, then made it to the bathroom where I proceeded to lose 3 pints of blood. Turns out my uterine fibroids had gotten to the point where they had torn open veins, which had clotted in the uterus; it felt like a contraction when I passed them. If you haven't had a vaginal ultrasound to check, I'd highly recommend it. Fibroids are often benign, but also can cause really heavy, sometimes dangerous, bleeding and resulting anemia. Good luck and please keep us posted how you are.

Hope you're doing better tonight. I think bleeding is always causes us to worry, especially with no period for two years. And it does seem like the weather is causing more pain as it gets colder out there. I had a great summer with almost no pain and now I've been aching all over for the last two week. I know the feeling with family and husbands also. Sometimes my DH can be so supportive then goes into periods where he forgets how much help I need. The my two older sons seem to forget I need help and expect me to be their maid since I don't work and am home all day. There are days I love helping them out, because it makes me feel useful, but by the time nighttime comes I'm exhausted and can hardly move. You have it right though. Everyone here understands how you feel, maybe we should make up a little schrolling message to play on the TV to remind them how we feel at home. :) I'll keep you in my prayers for your future dr. appts. Take care of yourself!

I'm sorry your DH was so insensitive to how you feel. My DH hasn't felt that great himself lately so even though he would never say anything like that I sometimes feel he is less compassionate, which makes sense to me. I remind myself that sometimes he needs tender loving care too.

 

It was 38 when I first got on the computer this morning, yikes, but the sun is shining again. Rain in the forecast tonight and tomorrow so be prepared.
