Is anyone taking Tramadol? Do you feel that it helps with the Fibro pain?

Have you had good experience with it.

I just started taking it today and it has helped me.

I haven't noticed any bad side effects so far and I did feel much better.

I will see what tomorrow brings.

I am having a hard time sleeping tonight but that happens often to me

even before I took the Tramadol earlier today.

Hi Mustang!

And since we just met, Welcome to the Fibro Family! The leaves are magnificent in Washington state also! As far as Tramadol, I did try it and for me it did nothing. It was like taking M&M's but those taste better...lol But I have a stiff resistance to pain medications.

Fibro folks often have sleep problems. When your sleep in shortened or interrupted your body can't rebuild and heal up the cells during the night and that's one of the main reasons for sleep. If I were you I would certainly talk to the doc about the sleep issues. He may not give you medication for sleeping but it will let him know your reaction to the Tramadol, possibly and also give you some help with getting better sleep. It's often one of the first things doctors treat in fibro patients.

Hi Mustang,

Welcome!!

I use Tramadol during the day, I can pretty much get thru my work day with it. At night I usually have to take my percocet. I take 150 mgs of Tramadol I still have pain, but it's do-able with the tramadol

I have been on tramadol for several years and it has always worked well for me, altho the dosage has increased from 50 mg /day to 400mg / day, I guess it is about time to increase again. I don't think its doing that much for me now, it has been years and I feel its time to find a new med that works better.

I was prescribed Tramadol a year ago and used it everyday for 8-9 months, over the past 3 or 4 months I've been trying to get thru days without taking it and only use when I absolutely need it. I have never had any kind of side effects from it.

Also a year ago I was prescribed Amitriptylene ...... because I could not sleep through the night. I think the amitriptylene has done alot more to help me feel better day to day. You need to get a full rest at night to feel better thru the day.

My doc prescribed both of these at the same time for me and told me this was his treatment method he gives every fibro patient.

I use tramodol and i like it. It seems to cut my pain in half.. which is better than having it all. I didn't notice the difference until one day when i forgot to take it... wow, it was a big difference. I too have no side affects.

I Took tramdol back before I was formally diagnosed and my doctor wanted me to try this instead of vicoden. It has adverse reactions with me it gave me a lot of energy. And I would take it around bed time and my body would be relaxed and "sleeping" but my mind would race. I would wake up thinking I'd been asleep for a long time and it'd be 15 minutes later. Needless to say tramadol and I didn't get along.
