Yesterday morning I needed to make a trip to Wal Mart before my sister-in-law left for work since she needs my car at the moment to get there. She leaves at 7am so I had to go early. I left at 4:15 so I'd have some groceries on hand before she left. <cinnamon rolls etc.. >
Before I left I thought I'd better get my cell phone which was on the charger. But guess what...I forgot it.
Anyway, I was finished in Wal Mart by around 5:30..still dark out. Got in my car and started home. I only live 15 minutes away.
I made the off ramp from the interstate then made the turn on the access road that runs parallel and was feeling a little gittery so figured I'd better get home for some fresh coffee and a cinnamon roll before I was in trouble. I'm a diabetic and hadn't eaten since 4 the previous afternoon.
Before I knew what was happening I hit a road sign and was in a ditch with the east bound interstate traffic coming right at me. I had no idea how I got there, or where I was!
Someone came along, told me to wait in the car. Paramedics came and tested my blood. It was down to 58 but they said it was most likely lower than that before I had an adrenaline rush.
It seems I was on the right road but had spaced out and driven right past my turn and hit the dead end.
Other than that I was ok but being so very disoriented was frightening.
The thing is..what I'm wondering is this. Was this just the low sugar level or, was it also fibro fog and/or my medication for fibro? Because this has been happening to me lately where I've been missing my turn off or getting lost going places. It's not like me at ALL. and it's scarey...
