What is your favorite grocery store splurge? Like it or not we all have to shop for groceries. Most often for me it's B-O-R-I-N-G!! I make a list after surveying the cupboards and pantry, check for coupons and off I go. Lately hubby has been taking me instead of me going it alone. It sure helps me feel better at the end of the day. But that aside, sometimes it's fun to have a splurge once in a while. Now I'm not talking ice cream or a package of
cookies unless that's your splurge, but I'm talking about
something you only buy maybe once or twice a year. Something that is expensive and you only treat yourself to it on rare occasion. Maybe it's something from the deli because you just don't feel like cooking this item. Or your treat is from the bakery. A scrumptious delight you plan to share with someone you love or keep it all to yourself, maybe some fresh crab or lobster.
Your idea or a spurge could be the ingredients for a meal you plan to make for your family or someone special in your life. Or you may be planning a wonderful treat just for you! What's your idea of a splurge at the grocery store?
OK, I'm working on this one...I don't buy bakery items since it would take away my joy of cooking and baking. I don't care for deli food. A nice bottle of wine is a treat for some folks but we don't imbibe. Wow, I'm sitting here thinking for a few minutes already and I'm trying to narrow it down to one. I would have to say a package of really good chocolate. Nothing fancy, just in bar form and not much if anything added, but I love high end chocolates and never buy them for myself. I will buy them as a gift or treat for others but once in a while I will do it for me since hubby isn't a chocoholic.
