Those Lyrica commercials...

Okay...I don't know about ya'll but I get such a kick out of those Lyrica commercials. Heck, even my hubby does. We see the one with the baker or the one with the professor and start giggling as soon as each says, "A day with 'LESS' pain."

I'm really lucky my hubby understands about all the pain. My doc upped all my meds: Lyrica, pain meds to twice their dose, and that other med I take for it. LOL...I honestly can't recall what the name is but it ALSO has funny commercials about how it works for fibromyalgia...that anti-depressant. Blast it all...what's it called.

Grrr...anyway, today I'm at work and I'm dizzy as hell and hurting. I'm in the midwest and the world is beautiful with snow and evil with cold at the same time. Still, I'm enjoying those commercials...AND that new DODGE one...where the voice is saying how its not "manly" to drive a minivan if you've got 5 of your offspring inside it. Truly very funny. Hope ya'll get a kick out of them as I do.

Oh those Lyrica commercials crack me up! They (IMO) undermine fibromyalgia and what we go through. My dad's friend's wife is an ER doc, and she said that since those commercials came out, there are herds of people coming into the ER saying that think they have fibromyalgia. It's ridiculous. And the whole "less pain" thing, that's the other part. I read online that Lyrica can also cause muscle pain, which seems to defeat the purpose.

I think the saturation of the air waves with drug commericals is beyond annoying.  Lyrica, Ambilify and the one for over active bladder (Detrol?)are the most horrifying, at least for me as I don't like to take pills anyway.  'Can cause seizures, fainting upon standing, explosive diarrhea, vomiting, intestinal bleeding and in some rare instances, death?'  Geez...I'd rather pee my pants, thank you.

Yes...the lovely professor hip hopping down the stairs with her brief case after her daily dose of Lyrica cracks me up.  How does she teach with the double vision and the 'temporary' throat spasms...LOL!

I just read in one of the hubby's medical magazines that Savella is nothing but Cymbalta with  one extra insignificant ingredient in it...push it off as a 'new' fibro miracle?  Cha Ching!

And lets not forget that the original studies for Lyrica and helping with fibro pain where falsified . yep that's right

i want to do a lyrica commercial i think i would be good in it.....we could start out in the morning as i am awake at 5 am most morning crying from the pain....then we could have me take my lyrica and i could jump out of bed at the crack of noon after i do the same stretching that i do anyway and show people that lyrica is the joke it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and ps i also love the blurry vision and the dark rings where is the lsd when you need it lol

The commercials are way out of hand.

But I will say this, for me...Lyrica really did do wonders for me as far as the every day pain.

Little by little, the doctor had to keep increasing the dose, then the next thing I know I'm swelling up in my hands and ankles, so I had to come off of it. Since then, its been really hard without something that was a "maintenance" type of medication vs. just taking pain meds all the time.
