My "sit muscle" hurts!

Does anyone else have this? It's not my tail bone but it is on the right side where I guess the pelvic bone is (TMI, I know, but if you feel on each side of your rear end, there is a bone underneath each "cheek" when you sit). Mine has been sore on one side when I sit for a few weeks. It isn't actually in the "bone," but is in the soft tissue. It is sore and tender to the touch (no swelling, redness, etc.). It just hurts when I sit very long. Ugghh.

:) mine always hurts that is why I generally don't sit still at all, of course I don't stand still or lie still either. I am a very on the go person constantly moving. staying still causes pain.

Hi AustenFan. I know exactly what you are talking about. I think my first post on this forum was about the pain I was having in the 'sits bone' area of my rear. The pain was horrible and the symptom which finally made me go to the doctor with all of my complaints. He then dx'd fibro after ruling out everything else with tests. I cannot sit for very long-traveling is a real problem. I did go to a pain management doctor who said part of the problem was my very tight hamstrings. Even though I exercised and did yoga I needed more, but gentle, stretching. He also gave me some shots in that area which temporarily helped. He also wanted me to go to a physical therapist, but my insurance wouldn't pay. If I miss a day or two of stretching I can really tell.

Thanks for all of the replies. It's gotten pretty bad lately, so I guess I'm gonna have to see my doc next week. I have sacroiliitis, so that might be causing part of the problem. I just know it hurts! :(

I did that too, Sherrine LOL Lined my computer chair/recliner with them and it's helped alot another thing that helps is my heated massaging chair pad, I put the rear/thigh massagers on low and the heat on high and it helps quite a bit
