I woke up this morning with a massive headache.  I normally wake up with a headache but not this painful.  I don't have migraines and not sure how a migraine feels but my head hurts so bad that I feel sick.  And of course everything else hurts like the dickens. Yesterday was my first day not getting a b12 shot before I went to work... could this be part of the problem.... if the b12 is helping that much am I going to end up becoming addicted to b12... what can I do to make it go away

If you have any Vicks Vaporub, put it on your forehead, the menthol constricts blood flow and numbs it. As I'm on the max daily dose of pain meds I've had to find alternate relief methods and this one works for me.

I used the menthol route and it didn't work so I tried peppermint oil and that didn't help either so I just took my heating thing and stuck it in the microwave and ended up walking around with it... not so bad now but still pretty painful.. I can tolerate it though.

I had a bad headache today too. Went back to bed and slept for three hours. Still have a little one but feel better. It was making me sick too.

Hope your head feels better soon!

Hopefully what you are having is simply related to your b12 shot and not a migraine.

Migraine is different for everyone. To me, it feels like my head is going to explode with every beat of my heart, and truthfully? In the midst of the unrelenting pain, sometimes I wish it would just to put me out of my misery.

well I went to bed last night with my head still hurting a lttle bit but get up this morning and it hurts awful again.... I go to get another b12 shot today so hopefully that will help.

I have a headache everyday for years, some days are worse than others. How is your neck??? I have arthritis in my upper neck and the nerves from your neck run up over the top of your head so I know a lot of mine comes from the neck problem. I have talked to my GP and rheumy recently about the headaches, I have had all kinds of test done, and they both say they are from the neck and fibro. That is how I wake up about every morning is with neck and head hurting.

 

I hope it gets better, they are no fun.

Migraines are a part of Fibro from what I've read.  I get them and it sounds like a Migraine to me.  My Neurologist put me on 250 mg of Magnesium and 400mg of B2.  They helped with the headaches but it's not an instant cure, that's for sure.  It took about a week to work.  Magnesium can make you tired and give you diarhea so I took it at night and by the time I left for work in the morning, I was fine.  Didn't have to worry about trips to the bathroom by then.  He gave me a sample of Lyrica and told me to go home and sleep when it got so bad at work I couldn't stand it any longer (had them for 2 months straight).  That helped to make it subside.  If you already have lyrica for the Fibro, it might help you right now but I'd still check with the Doc before taking any of this since everyone is different and you may have other conditions that this treatment may not be good for.  I also tried the "Tiger Balm" on the temples and it helped. Good luck.

There's a nasty bug going around and the massive headache is part of it. I've got co-workers that the headache has lasted up
to 3 weeks. I woke up yesterday with it and today was even worse....felt like an elephant sitting on my head. The new stomach
flu is making a comeback too. Keep well.

headache lessoned significantly after i got the b12 shot but then I went to work and well now everything hurts.. my neck right now is the worst.... I don't think I am getting sick but yes it is going around our facility. It is in the wrong place for sinus... my neck is always hurting too but right now feels like someone tied a string on it and I can only turn it so far and it hurt so bad that I gotta stop... I am walking like a little robot course stressful work day with extra work because someone didn't do what they were supposed to do yesterday. Seems more I work the more I hurt. Of course with my job I guess that would make sense because i lift people all day. Oh well gotta try and get some sleep not sure how well that is going to work.

I have found the more I move my neck the worse it is. Last Sat we had a birthday party and by the end of the evening with turning my head constantly talking to people I was in major pain. I find the same thing happens when riding in the car and starting and stopping, turning my head to look at things and etc. I will laydown awhile with something under my neck to support it and keep it even with my body and that seems to help. I bought one of the pillows that is suppose to keep your neck aligned and couldn't stand it. I also have my laptop up where I don't have to look down while using it.

If it is a migraine, ice will help and heat will make it worse. tension headaches are really painful. What is weird about tension is you tense up and it makes the pain worse which makes you tense more . . . You want to cry and crying makes it worse too!

Have you or Marlee (have either of you) tried muscle relaxer at night. I found that they keep me from tensing up so much at night so I wake up with less neck pain.

if you take b12 orally, does it have the same effect?

I haven't taken a muscle relaxer... i try to stay away from having to take pills(hmm that might change now!!!!) I have not tried the b12 oral I have only had the shot and it has only been for about a week and a half. I don't think it is the b12 though because the last two days I have had the headache(same as always) just not as bad as it was that time.

I also had a bad headache last week.  Thought it was hormones, but it went on a few days.  Thought then it was sinus, but nothing helped.  I finally took a Neurontin, and lo and behold, it went away.  Must have been nerve pain.  Hope you get some positive solutions, too.  God bless and feel better!

I woke up with a terrific headache today. I do a lot of the time. Any weather change affects me this way. A wet/cool front came in today. My neck and shoulders also hurt, don't know if it is the fibro or arthritis. I have a prescripion for Fioracet that is for headaches. I took one then filled the tub with very warm water and soaked for 15 minutes. Then I went back to bed for a while. My headache is gone now and I plan to do some exercise and light stretching.

Could the weather be affecting you?

I have tried flexeril Sue and doesn't help my neck or headaches at all. I think mine is a combo of fibro and arthritis. I have a massage tomorrow maybe that will help for awhile but I don't let her do too much to the neck.

 

We are having our third rainy dreary day so that makes me feel bad all over. But not so sure I'm not coming down with a tummy bug, with my digestive system only time will tell.

 

Hope everyone's headaches goes away.
