feeling of fever

I get really flushed cheeks and my face feels tight and kinda warm yet i will be colder than cold. I thought for the longest time it was because I was trying to move to much(most of the time I was at work in the really hot hallways). then it started happening more often and in the strangest places. I had church members thinking that I was blushing when we were talking about where we were going to eat lunch. It is annoying because everyone ask why yur cheeks all red... i say i don'[t know...

I am happy to know I am not the only one whose hubby thinks she is crazy! I am forever telling himmt o feel my forehead, I must have a fever, and he feels it and says that I am fine, even cooler than him! My body temp often runs below normal, around 96 or even a bit lower. When I feel feverish, it usually means I am at 98.6, which feels like a fever to me. At night, I am sensitive and generally warmer, so I keep well away from hubby as his body heat will send me into serious sweat! And not for any fun reason. Before kids, I would sleepp with the window open all winter. During the day it is not as noiceable, but I have to keep the heat a degree beolw room temp in order to feel normal!

    My doctor says fibromites often have everything low, good and bad - and this is true in my case - low temp, low cholesterol, low bloodpressure, low/normal thyroid.  I've been very sick, even needing an appendectomy, without fever.  Often when I feel crappy (er) it'll be 94-something.

My only exception is pesky liver enzymes, 2 of which have been chronically elevated for years.   When I had my gallbladder out, they did a liver biopsy and the surgeon who looked at the report said, "you've led a clean life."  Yeah, so, why the liver disease?  Fun Fun Fun!

Me too......my neck and face will be warm to the touch and I can feel it. Take my temp it's normal........At times my hands will be ice cold but it feels so good on my face.

I thought I was going through a premenopause thing but guess not, oh well so much for wishful thinking.

Funny story, I keep the ceiling fan on high at night because I get hot, dh complains he is cold then the other day it was hot outside I was freezing cold so I made him turn the heat on in the truck...........

He goes is this gonna be one of this hot/cold relationships.........rofl.

Thank God I am married to a good man.......I know I drive him crazy with this and complaining all the time that this and that hurts.

I also do this too. I think this is another reason that others around us dont believe in FM. It is hard to prove to others we are sick when there is no "hard" evidence of it. We know how we feel. I too think I am feverish but the thermo comes out and its not even 98.6!!!

Hi, I have fibro and I'm 17 years old. This all sounds very familiar to me. Like right now I am burning up and feel like I have a fever, but my temp is fine. I run a lil lower than average. Im burning up and sweating but I also have the chills, I've been up for 20 hours, still can't sleep.

I used Lidoderm patch for the first time yesterday and had a bad reaction to it, it didnt even relieve most of my pain. I also used to take tramadol/ultram but it stopped working after time just like everthing else. Wondering if maybe this awful flare up is because I stopped tramadol for the first time in a long time.
Just curious if anyone else has had adverse reactions to Lidoderm, has medication stop working after the first months, or can give me any advice. I'm 1year and a half into this but still new and since I'm young I have the chance to get this to go down or away.

i have the same problem with my body temperature and an ice pack on the back of the neck and possible a cold shower and that usually helps but sometimes you just have to ride it out which sucks but sometimes with fibro thats all that works

I fell out laughing when I read everyones complaints..sorry, dont; mean to sound rude, but I have all the terrible body feeling too..But when I read about the red ears, I just died laughing..I too get red ears, low temp, body chills, hot flashes....Water feeling like its burning down my body when I take a shower..
I got pissed off at my thermometer and put a match to it to make sure the darn thing worked!! I;ve always had low body temp. seems like a common ground here..Seems like were going to have to be our own drs. There has to be a link somewhere. I;ve heard that alot of fibromites have had trama in there lives before it started..I did, but it was a long time ago..But I think theres a connection there..Going on too much, i;ll get off my soap box, love u guys, GODSPEED

Wow this is so weird. I usually run 97.1 and when I feel like I have fever, it runs 98.6 to 99.5. Don't know where it comes from. Very weird.
I do wish I knew what that meant.

A couple of the posters on this thread might want to get checked for sinus infection. I've got one right now that's giving me a red mask across my cheeks and nose - maxillary sinuses infected. A few days ago it was just my forehead that was hot. I don't know what the bug is - seeing 2 docs now, consulting a 3rd in a week, on antibiotics, antifungals, sinus washes, etc. I've got a problem with sinus openings since an accident which broke my nose. I don't run a systemic fever, but my face can get quite red. Mucinex helps drain the sinuses.

Others, especially those taking tramadol, might want to look up the symptoms of serotonin syndrome. Meds like Flexeril and SSRIs can raise serotonin, and combined with tramadol, which also raises it, can cause temperature to spike. I've had this problem with just taking tramadol a half hour early and also taking it just on the same day as some other meds. Temp spike is usualy preceeded by muscle twitches though.

I wasn't sure what was happening to me.
I break out in a sweat all over and feel like I have a high temp. but nope it's normal.
The sheet and my pj are always soaked in the morning and I have gotten up in the middle of the night
to change everything.
Hate it.

I haven't been dx with fibro but have alot going on.

I also experiences being very dehydrated and feel like i lack sleeping. The feeling of being hot inside and out and having a high fever but when I get a check up from a nurse, all she says was "you had a normal tempreture, why would you think that you had a fever?" Please help. What is the main reason why it happens?

This is my first visit here, I just "by accident" found this forum late at night while I was looking for something related to fibromyalgia..an illness/ misbehaviour (don't know what to call it...) I've had for many years.
I will write more here - but I have to find mye bed soon....here the time is about one o'clock in the night (pm) and I just wanted to get registered...
Thanks to all of you who shared this painful flushes/hotstuff....which comes and goes even after the menopause is over !
I myself is 59 years old, and though my doctor mentioned to me that some specialist had told her that in people with fibro the termostate doesn't function the normal way sometimes.....I didnt know what to believe, because I've never red this myself until tonight when I found this forum and all you lovely ladies telling your stories !!
