Hi there! Im Angie. I have been reading the forum for a week or so now and feel like I have gained some great knowledge about
other peoples personal experiences with FMS.
I was dx with Fibro in Oct. but like many others I know I have had it for quite sometime before that. It really got bad when my youngest son was born. He will be 2 Wednesday of this week. I can remember telling my ob at my 6 week check up that I just hurt so bad all over. She did the typical bloodwork and it was all fine. Said it was just soreness from delivering a baby and sent me on my way. But I never got better. Finally Oct 2009 I started having some odd symptoms and when trying to "self-diagnose" I came across fibromyalgia. I made an appt with my primary physician and explained everything about how I felt. He immediately said, well, I'll have to do some tests to rule other things out, but I think you have fibro. Ah, what a relief. I was so glad to not have to jump through some of the hoops that many of you have.
Since then, I have only taken topamax and fioricet for my "migranes" and when that still wasnt helping I decided to take myself to a rheumatologist. He now suspects I might have RA also. So Im now taking a RA medicine along with a muscle relaxer at betime that has really improved my severe neck pain. I am hoping to talk to him about going off the topamax next time I see him since I dont think its really doing anything for me.
A small personal intro...Im 29 (30 in April) married for almost 12 years to my high school sweetheart <3 We have 4 beautiful children Katelyn is 10, Maggie is 7, Jackson is 5 and Preston will be 2 this week. We reside in Missouri and I am fortunate that I get to stay at home and raise my children.
I look forward to getting to know you all and hopefully we can all help eachother out and lift each other up.
I am just at the end of a horrible flare, and finally feeling a bit human again. I think I actually smiled yesterday.
