I went to the sleep specialist on monday and he kept asking me if I have ever been diagnosed with RLS I told him no because i haven't been but i have questioned it in the past because I don't keep my legs still... i am always moving them... when I try to keep still it drives me nuts but I am the type of person that doesn't sit still in the first place.... My question is what does everyone else experience with RLS?????

Usually, I think it feels like millions of ants are crawling all over your legs and you just have to move them. Fortunately my nortriptypline helps with that. Sometimes at night they start to bother a little and I put my heating pad on my legs. The heat seems to help, too. Diane

Mine feel 'creepy crawling'.  At night I move them all over the bed and when I'm sitting I find myself kicking my legs.  I take Valium at night so I can sleep with it.  My doctor would not even consider Requip or Mirapex...apparently the side effects are worse than the disorder.

MIne feels like I want to run. Run so hard that I fall down and can't move my legs anymore. That is the best way that I can explain it. It has been a long time since I have had rls though so it is kind of hard to remember. I tried mirapex but it made me feel worse. Then I did feel like a million ants were crawling on my legs, so I carried it back to the pharmacist. And eventually it went away. I did find that if I got up and walked around the house, I felt better. But like I say, I haven't had this problem for years now. I don't know why it went away, but it did.

my legs feel like electricity is coursing through them but it isn't just my legs my whole body feels like that and the only way I can get it to stop is to move or to tense my muscles.... tensing my muscles just ends up eventually causing pain so I just choose to keep moving. I would have described it another way but is not very ummmm well some people may not have liked the way i put it.....

RLS totally disrupts my sleep!!! for me it just feels like a creepy/uneasy feeling in my legs usually when i'm trying to sleep @ nite... sometimes in the movie theaters or on a long plane ride... ugh... i end up just kicking my legs around for a while but then it disrupts my husbands sleep too...(oops!) lol...

what i've been trying lately is to take a multivitamin everyday and also do @ least a 1/2 hr of stretching right before i go to bed. worth a try, hope it helps!

Over the years I have had bouts of RLS but never been diagnosed. I have enough that doc treats and I'm not at a point where I can't sleep because of it. But when I get into the throws of RLS for weeks on end I can't hold my legs still when I lay down. I can't imagine having to stop moving them...I can't stop! Finally I can settle and go to sleep but I hate it. I can't imagine that creepy ant feeling <shudder>!

I do hope you all can get some relief for this!

Mine is like a reaction to always having a song in my head, at least that's how it seems. My feet are always tapping out the rhythm, or my toes are squeezing together, or something. I don't feel like they're moving on their own, thankfully. That would be hard.

:) I always feel like the creepy ant thing but is more of the mind thing because at work we have issues with ants and I only have the problem after I see a bunch of them.... but the electicity type feeling is different... It makes me want to move my legs versus brush them off... if i tighten my muscles it helps briefly but when I relax again it seems to be worse. Hmmm maybe the doctor is right then LOL....
