Well I think I MIGHT (hopefully it's just that) a UTI. I was wondering first of all if other people with Fibro get these a lot AND if they ever experience pain in the pelvic area from a UTI. I don't know if it is one yet or not. *sighs* I HATE going to the doctor for fear that it could be something serious.

A few years ago, my Urologist unofficially (since I don't have insurance, they don't want it going on the record) diagnosed me with IC. I haven't had a real one in so long that I can't remember if I experienced this pelvic pain with it before or not. The pain is all over but occasionally I'll feel more pain/burning/pressure in the right or left side of my pelvic.

Really freaked out about this. I'm not 30 yet but worried it could be something horrible. :(

about a year ago I thought I had a uti,I had all the symptoms, but my dr kept testing me and I did not have an infection. One of the symptoms of Fibro is irritable bladder and it can feel just like a uti. I would go to your Dr and have them check you so if you do have one,you can go on antibiotics. It took about 4 months before my symptoms eased..I can tell you that I was miserable for those months. Hopefully you have something that can be cleared up quickly.

Oh yuck! Well it's the pelvic pain that principle is concerning me at this point but I know that they can happen with UTIs...at least I'm pretty sure it can. I had a horrendous genuine UTI while I was in college. I came in figuring that's what it was. They tested my urine and didn't think I had enough white blood cells in there to indicate infection. I pointed to the area that was bothering me the most - entire pelvic and the one doctor said she was concerned about my ovaries. Naturally I freaked out and well...it WAS a UTI. I had it for a month and when I went in again...I had to be on antibiotics for a month.

I've heard of irritable bladder but is that similar to Interstitial Cystitis? That's what they suspect that I have but won't officially diagnosis me with it.

I started in with UTI's about 9 years ago. I get about 2 or 3 per year on average. Now....I was not diagnosed with fibro until July 2009. So, whether or not it was an early symptom of the lingering fibro, well, which came first the chicken or the egg? LOL

I typically don't have alot of pelvic pain with my UTI's just alot of vaginal pressure and pain when urinating.

I also wanted to add:

As soon as I get the signs of a UTI coming on..(I know it all so well) I have a prescription that I keep on hand and start taking it. I love my doctor for doing this for me. It is so unnecessary and expensive to go to the doctor when I know what it is and can treat it right away saving me so much pain.

I also drink lots of Cranberry juice when I feel one coming on. I have steered many away with just a few pills of my strong antibiotic and that juice.

I was told not to drink Cranberry Juice, that it would just make the bladder pain worse.

You will just have to find what works for you. It helps me. Like all medical issues, one thing recommended by one doctor may not be by another. And...you could have something totally different than a UTI going on and you wouldn't see a difference anyway.

Hope you feel better soon though. :-)

I get a lot of pelvic pain and have been tested over and over again for UTI's and they have all come out negative... the doctor didn't seem to really be worried about so I didn't really worry about it... that was before I was diagnosed with fibro... now I just think it was probably part of it the whole time... I also notice that it seems to happen more right before and right after that monthly "gift".

I noticed the pain two days before my period (which ended at the beginning of last week). I thought it was just that but...yeah. I also do not drink the amount of water that I should.
