Memory Foam Matress Toppers?

Hi Kim. A few years back I had bought a 3" thick memory foam topper. It felt so comfortable but after awhile my pain (back, hip) increased so I took it off. As much as I liked it I think for me it just didn't give me enough support. Maybe a thinner one would have been OK for me. I know that a lot of people really love theirs so I'm probably in the minority on this subject. Something to keep in mind also is that if you use a heating pad in bed the heat could degrade the topper. That's another reason I probably won't try it again because I love my heat. Take care, Lisa

I like to put pillows under my legs so they are slanted up above my hips at night.

Thanks everybody. I am not sue what I am going to do for my daughter. She has been sleeping on the floor for the past 3 nights. Although her current bed is a pretty expensive mattress it doesn't seem to be firm enough which could be adding to her pain. I know when I have slept in it I usually don't sleep well cause I hurt (RA). We have another mattress that I could swap it with but I will need to add the memory form topper to it - its not a great mattress but would probably work well with a topper.

I didn't like the topper I bought, either. I can't remember if it was 2 or 3 inches, but I sank in so low, I felt like I was being buried. It was also very hot (even though it was supposed to be a "cooler" one), and it made my back hurt worse. Needless to say, I didn't keep it.

There are some who love them, but it didn't work for me or my hubby.

I have a memory foam topper on mine and I do like mine. But....I definetly need a new one:) Mine is about 4 years old now.
