My hair is blue

Today I went for a haircut and color to the same place I always go. My hairdresser wants to try a new color to tone down the brassiness. When she washes it for the third time time I say, "It's blue, isn't it?" Oh yes! Not light powder blue like we see some times. No, more like the blue in the American flag. The good thing it's not all over, just near the roots. I did not have time for a correction today but will go back after the holiday. I guess if I wear red and white this week end I will be dressed for the holiday week end. The funny thing is (besides the color of my hair) there was a time in my life that this would have really upset me. Now I think, heck there are worse things than blue hair that have happened to me. Think of the bright side, you got hair! I'm 29, female and No Hair! Darn chemotherapy. Course I did figure out if you read my post that there is no laws in making cops spill their coffee by pulling your wig off in front of them! I also figured out its a great way to mess with friends, just pluck a wig right off. Or a friend you havent seen in awhile, just show up bald. They jump backwards and go "Wooooahh".

Last week, I had a dental appointment. Anyhow, the poor guy is a very compassionate, and cute dentist. He's seen me walk in with my hair to the bottom of my rear, cut to my shoulders. Then recently (with my shaved head now lol) I decided to my appointment, just to walk in without a wig or anything. He looked at me turned to speak to someone, spun back around, looked at me agian and goes "Woooah what happened to your hair?" So I told him "what hair?" he laughed then I told him I shaved it for a children's cancer fundraiser since I had to do chemotherapy again. During the visit, a nurse came up informing him (jokingly) that she signed him up to work with the preschooler's. I started cracking up, knowing him way to well, he couldn't do it. He'd cry with the kids, really. He's the only dentist I've ever seen that sits there going "I'm sorry I'm sorry this hurts just a little bit more. I'm so sorry honey" when he is injecting that numbing crap. He's just too compassionate to work on children lol...but he's great with kids. He's played "dentist" (a cop out of "doctor") with my 6 year old boy as he was working on my teeth LOL.

Donna, I'm 64 and certainly do remember little old ladies with blue cotton candy looking hair. I refuse to think of myself as one of these gals. I think I'll look really" punk" riding my bike down the street, wearing red pants, white tee shirt and this cool blue hair.

Puppylover, I had to laugh when I read your post....I could see exactly where it was going!!!

I think you have a terrific outlook about going out with blue hair. It's there, so flaunt it!!! Have fun with it - stressing only makes everything worse!

Puppylover, you will probably start a fad among local teenagers with your blue hair and red and white outfit! Yes, I can remember being at an age where a beauty shop mishap would have really bothered me. Now, I would probably just go with the flow. I admire your healthy attitude and sense of humor. These things are so important in keeping our lives on an even keel. Smurf, I am sorry to hear that you are having so many health problems at such a young age. You also have a great sense of humor and a positive outlook.
