You know the pain is bad when....

You know the pain is bad when your husband looks at you and tells you to stop crunching up your face.

You know the pain is bad when you simply bump your wrist on something and it aches the rest of the day.  I'll be working and bump my hand or wrist and it will ache so bad that I think there should be a body parts store cuz I really wanna buy a new hand or wrist at that present time.

You know the pain is bad when you have to put your arm in a sling to keep it immobile, even though it isn't sprained or broken.

You know the pain is bad when you just want the day to end and hoping that maybe tomorrow will be better.

You know the pain is bad when you can't stand to carry your groceries up 6 steps leading to the deck without stopping to let it subside a little.  (my husband keeps saying he is going to build me a ramp).

...when you go out to the driveway and squat down (bending over is a no-no,) take the Sunday newspaper out of its wrapper, keep about one-third to carry in yourself, and put the rest back in for someone else to get later because if you carried in the whole thing your body would hate you for days.

Donna, I love your descrition of finding a straight-rolling cart! It's amazing how little patience onlookers have sometimes.

You know the pain is bad when you are talking about something important, and mid-conversation, drift off into a fog, totally forgetting what you were talking about.

You know the pain is bad... When " your husband makes you aware that you are curlling up into a ball. sholders slumpped and going forward into your self. and you are rocking back and forth.. and the pain from trying to straiten up brings tears rolling down your face. ..

You know the pain is bad... When " all around your eyes is black as can be and feels like someone hit you . the glasses on your face leave big indents in your nose from " what swelling . Lord knows cause I dont .

You know the pain is bad... When " you wake your self up crying out in pain from trying to move in bed. and wake up hubbie also from a dead sleep.. wondering whats going on..

How true about the needle and thread. I never knew what was causing that until I was diagnosed. I went to school for phlebotomy and and could never work because, of course, I need my hands to work to be able to draw blood.


FMSaddenedSpirit- Have you tried any meds yet for Fibro like Savella or Lyrica? I used to be in the same pain that you described in your post and I'm now taking Savella. It has helped me so much. I am not pain free, but I don't have that horrible pain anymore like you described. There were times that I didn't want to wake up because the only time I didn't feel pain was when I was sleeping. I felt like a patient that just came out of major surgery with no pain meds. That's how I would wake up.

Gosh, txplowgirl, that sounds like me on one of my bad days! It used to break my heart when I couldn't pick up my youngest. When she was a toddler, she could climb onto my lap, but there were days when that was even too much.
