Prayed for the holy spirit to guide the doctor I was seeing today.......she was the assistant to my doctor. 

Took my dh so he could be my backup and started to explain everything going on, at one point I look at her and go, I know it's crazy but there is so much going on that I can't pinpoint one location or pain.  Also told her of the muscle twitches and stiffness, how weather, stress and manual labor plays a role in it.

She goes have you thought of Fibromyalgia....because I have a mild case too.  I go yes but at the same time I don't have the tender points she says its because you are not in a flare and in the beginning stages.  She said to have your husband test you while you are feeling bad.

She wants to run several test to rule out other things, lupus, autoimmune diseases and maybe a MRI to rule out MS.  Also Lyme disease test too.

She was thinking of Lyrica or Savalle (sP?) but needs to speak with doctor due to my other meds I am on.

Praise God, I feel so crazy when I tell them these things. My husband goes you have to understand this was a woman last year up at 5 am and went all day without stopping. She built ponds, landscaped and did manual labor with me with no problems.  Now she gets wiped out easily and last time she mowed our lawn she was having isuses for 3 days after that.  I love my husband.....have i said that.

Great!  Sounds like you found someone who not only listens but has fibro herself.  This should get you on the road to some answers.  And your hubby is a doll--to go with you and explain what you use to do and that now you can do zip in comparison.

KelliJo, sounds as if your prayers were answered. Finding someone who believes in
fibro and then takes the approprate steps to check.

I'm glad you had hubby with you too. His explanation was perfect. Hoping that all
continues to go well with getting a diagnosis.

So happy that God led you to this doctor! I took my hubby with me to the rheumatologist too. He explained similar things to that doctor. I went through tons of tests too. That's all part of the deal. Hope they get you on the right meds so you can have some relief.

Sounds like you found a great doctor!  I'm glad she is checking you out thoroughly.  That is important.  I don't have all the tender points either but I'm always under ibuprofen and Tylenol so that test, I don't think, would be accurate that way anyway!

 

Yes, God does answer prayer.

I am so happy that you got a diagnosis Kellijo,

It is so much easier when you know what you are up against. And not having a diagnosis is stressful in itself. Now you know what you are dealing with, though I am sure that you knew you had it, but now it is official.

It sounds like you have a good doctor. I am happy for you. Remember that the doctor works for you, so don't be afraid to ask questions. Carry a list of the things that you want to go over during visits. That way you don't forget to ask anything.

I hope that she puts you on a good medication for the fibromyalgia. I hope that it works well for you. Speaking of meds, I need some. Have a great evening.

Hi! I just wanted to share I am a believer too~and I do love our Lord so much! I do want to inform you I tried the Lyrica and didn't have luck with it due to so much weight gain. The morning after I took it I got up with my right hand so swollen I could barely make a fist. Of course no two people are alike. Hope you find an answer.

Your right, "God Is Good" and I sure believe this too.  I'm so glad he lead you to a good doctor.  I also took Lyrica for a while, but right now all I take is Ibuprofen and vitamin D.  The Lyrica caused weight gain and I sure didn't need that.

 

It's good to hear from other believers all over the country.  I also believe in miracles because I see them every day.

How wonderful that your dr visit went so well. She seems to know her stuff. I'm also so glad you have your own personal 'support system' in the person of your DH. Lucky, lucky girl!! Your PA should give seminars to some of the drs we have to deal with.

They do all of these tests to rule out any other conditions. Most of us have had these other tests before getting the official dx of FMS. Hope they can get a med to help you. I am not able to take the meds that were mentioned. I take two rx for pain, Tylenol and a prayer that begins, 'Please, dear God'.

I firmly agree w/ the title of this post. God Is Good!! Amen.

KellieJo,  I just want to add a big Amen to what everyone else said. I am going thru the same process you are of trying to get a name for whats going on.

 

I just found out I do not have Lupus, or Lyme disease, plus other things, can't remember what all the nurse said on the phone..... So whats new !?!? I will get a copy of my lab results, since I can't remember much these days! 

 My doctor is pretty sure it's Fibro, but she said I need to take a muscle test, and maybe a nerve test? I'll jump thru hoops for her if it will tell me why I feel so lousy most of the time!!

 

I praise the Lord right along with you. God is indeed good! He cares about everything were going through.

I pray you will get some relief soon.

 

 My doctor already tried Savella on me, it made me really nauseas, so now I'm just on Flexiril, it's a muscle relaxer, and helps me sleep better, and Tramadol for pain. They do help some.

 

Sounds like the Holy Spirit was right there with you in the room.    God Bless, and I can't wait to hear how it all turns out for you.

I also appreciate the support and wisdom I have found here.   I realize it will take time but as I told her, do the simple more cheaper test and start ruling things out.  We talked about MS too but she felt as I do that wasn't the case here.  That still needs to be ruled out though.

Thanks all and it is a blessing to be surrounded by believers with the same issues.  I do not know how I would have made it through last winter without faith and scripture the Lord blessed me with.

Kellie- It's Shann75!! You sent me an email to my personal Email Address! You said you "Normally" do not do that. I know why you did it. The Lord allowed us to cross paths! You told me that you were going to see your doc the next day in your email. I've been praying for you ever since! (I emailed you back) I know that the Lord can bring people into our lives for a purpose. Here you are, a stranger to me, but yet I found myself praying for you this week!! GOD is GOOD!!! It was no "Accident" that we met this week! The Lord brought us together for a purpose! I hope you also believe that.

 

I'm so happy for you! I was there! You are on the right path now, and that means EVERYTHING! You will get the answers that you need through the panel of blood tests. Once you have a clear diagnoses you will get the treatment that you need.

Shann75 in answer to you last email...:o) I have four children, ages 5, 10, 14 and 18. I felt connected with your first post, I do believe God pulls ALL of us together to share, lean on and to uplift one another.
