It seems like I hear so much from others about winter months being the time of year when they find themselves going into a flare.  For a number of years now I flare every summer as soon as the temps go into the 80's and above along with high humidity.  I find I cannot get out and enjoy the things I would like so badly to.  I am thankful that my hubby is willing to take it slow if we have to walk at all.  The pain is terrible.  Ultracet used to at least take the edge off the pain, but it isn't even touching it now.  Has anyone else experienced this same thing?

No, for me cold is worse (not that I enjoy extreme heat, either.) I might be more likely to do too much when it's hot and then flare, but not from the temp. itself. Can't speak for the humidity because I'm in the West. But that's fibro for you - it doesn't like to be pinned down :( Welcome, by the way!

Humidity bothers me a lot more than cold. The worst time for me is when there is a storm blowing through.

Heat and cold both have me miserable. I ache from both, but the heat makes me nauseaous and feeling like I'm going to pass out. My perfect temp is 72* and no humidity LOL If possible I would have my own personal air conditioned bubble around me as with being cold I can layer clothing, but once I'm hot and stripped down as far as I can, I'm still hot LOL

I only have 2 window AC units in bedrooms, so when they aren't enough I go to McDonald's or some place that has central air and a dollar menu, get a cold drink and try to cool off and since it's a small town and everyone knows me I don't get hassled for loitering. It helps a lot to cool off that way and more than once I've been found in the freezer dept of the grocery store.

Humidity and heat are worse for me too.  I cannot tolerate being out in it for long at a time.  When a weather front comes through now that is also bad for me.  Cold also affects me but not as bad as heat/humidity.

The heat makes me feel much better, almost normal, I miss the normal days, lol.

When a front comes in or winter, I get stiff and very achy.

Hi Drowsy, for me winter is the worst, I cant handle the cold at all. Im not a lover of really hot either but thankfully we have air conditioning in the house. If it gets to cold for me I can put on a jacket, my husband has to have it cooler because of his MS. So we work out a happy medium lol. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Drowsy, Fibro doesn't discriminate either cold or hot weather. It is an equal
opportunist! I used to hurt more in colder temps but I find I hurt just as much when
the temps are near 100. It also gets very humid, so that can make a hot, sticky, achy
fibromite pretty quick especially when you use moist heat from a bedbuddy to help.
Oh the joys of fibromyalgia!!!!

I live in Florida and the summer season is the worst time for me because of the heat, humidity, and the rain.  BUT, cold weather is even worse for me but that's why I moved to Florida.  It's good most of the year.

Here in Maryland this past Winter we had blizzards. It was pretty hard to leave my house, period due to the extreme cold. Now it is warmer and I finding myself able to be more active but I am tons more sore and achy at night. Probably cause like someone else I might be over-doing things :/

The cool/cold rain hurts me too...and no to the humidity. Just warm and dry is good for me. If is too hot/humid it makes sleeping more tough @ night.

I have a problem w/ extremes, can't take the heat, the cold, the rain, the snow, the wind, the humidy, etc. We had a horrid winter, blizzards, Nor'easters, COLD. We are now having a horrid summer, high 90's and into the 100's, so much humidity. Last night we finally got rain and a T-storm. Enough!!

I am in such a flare, I hurt all over. I'll leave it at that.
