Jeannie,
I was just typing and the entire post vanished. Anyway, thank you for the suggestion about Aldi's. We have one out on the highway.
I just dbl ck'ed the bottle. The Gatorade is 32 oz and 56 carbs, thanks for bringing that to my attention!!
We buy the larger bottles and break it down into 12 oz bottles, his company is so annoying as to what can/cannot come into the building. Not happy w/ them. Apparently, a/c is illegal !
We went to endo the other day and she wanted my DH to go to the cardio about the swelling in his feet and legs. He has had this for 5+ yrs since he had toe surgery. She felt he should be taken off of the Norvasc and put on a Beta Blocker. We saw the cardio NP today. She would rather have his feet a little 'puffy' than to have his HR drop. He has had that before. Last fall he was rushed to ER for low HR (32) and low BGL (also 32). The NP liked the idea of the frozen Gatorade, too! She also suggested we wet and freeze some washclothes for him to take to work, for head, neck and other pulse pts. She also mentioned a little water bottle w/ a fan on it. You spritz yourself w/ it and have the fan hit the water. I don't know how that would go over at work, but he has to do something. He is scaring the heck out of me and himself. The NP also said that the sodium level in the Gatorade is too high, dilute it w/ water.
Hope any or all of these suggestions can help you. This is going to be a very tough summer all around.
Thank you for the prayers for my mother. She is a very tough lady, and I mean that in the most loving way. She was in so much pain and never complained. The nurses didn't 'realize' she was in pain. She hates to complain. That was our job.
Take care, stay well!
God bless. Alice.
